Cam punished for strip club, not a tie?

I've never understood the appeal of blowing money on strippers.  I guess if you have no game or are a troll I can see it, but to hang around with your "boys" and pay naked coke heads to tease you all night.  No thanks.

It just screams "loser".

The human condition is always to find somebody to whom you feel superior, I guess.

I honestly hope it was for something more than not wearing a tie, because that's silly.

Problem I have with this is the idea Cam "took" a bunch of his teammates to a strip club and was the only one punished (unless the rest are not starters). I mean these are all grown men, so they should have all been punished.

Not buying this since Cam was the only one punished, doubt he was hanging out at the club with a bunch of backups and Rivera could have explained that Cam and a few of his teammates broke curfew one night without getting into details.

That's my issue. I'm also sure if he went out with teammates, theres a few starters that we KNOW he hangs out with and they went as well but he was the only one punished? I don't buy it. It was definitely more than a tie, but it wasn't the strip club.

Maybe. But not deviate from the topic but there's so much unnecessary taboo on strip clubs. Alcohol, marijuana, porn, gambling, i'm sure everyone does one or the other, or maybe all of them.

But the point is, who cares if Cam Newton goes to a strip club?

I'm told you haven't really lived till you've visited the strip clubs in Nebraska, Wyoming and South Dakota.

Realistically though, it's not the strip clubs that teams worry about. It's the Greg Fryes and other losers that might be there and cause trouble that gets your star player hauled off to jail.

To be clear, that's meant as an explanation, not a justification.

I also seriously doubt the Panthers staged that video... that's just not how this organization operates.

Besides, IF they were going to stage a video you'd think they would stage it so you could tell what Rivera was saying instead of just seeing the back of his head and Cam's reaction.

That whole theory is ridiculously stupid.

    • Gustavsson would be insane. I think we would have to break the bank to afford that move. Which, I don't think is necessarily a bad idea. Ultimately, Freddie isn't likely to be around more than a couple of seasons more. We can all agree that unless they have a fleet of sports psychologists working on Kochetkov, he will never be capable of getting his head on straight enough to compete.
    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
