Potential offensive coordinators for the 2017 Carolina Panthers

I could see Cutcliffe coming if he got complete control over the offense and if Dave/Jerry gave him a gentleman's agreement that if/when Ron fugs up he would get the head coaching job. Now I don't think either or those conditions is likely to be met so I doubt it happens.

Realistically we keep Shula or fire him to bring in Norv. Neither of those options feel me with hope or optimism.

why does the collapse require an offensive head.....yet the defensive collapse doesn't?

just trying to understand the logic applied.

Defense had a worse collapse on the year and we invest in the D to be better than the O.

The offense is more responsible for our record than the defense

Good stuff fiz.

Most important question, is cam going be a running back QB or not.

In the past, if stew or running game didn't work, unleash cam in running plays. But that seems to finally caught up to the team/cam.

I have no idea what's the best solution is, in the past my best guess was hiring a brilliant young college OC that used their QBs in the running game. Now that injuries, OL issues, and cam issues throwing med/short passes maaaan it's a mess and I don't know who can solve this.

I do know this, cam needs to work his ass off this off-season. In the film room and mastering all points of being a NFL QB. Turn his focus form retirement plans and projects, to becoming a great 2017& beyond QB. Prove that MVP was not a fluke.

It's because the defense can blame their issues on a young secondary and losing a bunch of vet presences, the offense was the same as last years plus KB so even with the o-line injuries it is harder to explain away why they suck.

Ken Dorsey hands down

1. A former QB knows how to QB the offense the best.  and knows what the QB likes and how to give him help.

2. Youth.  You can tell this offense has given up.  They are bored and hate the same old crap.  A young guy brings youth and energy  to the staff and brings a spark to the guys.

The flip side of youth is inexperience, though.

Pretty sure Dorsey is the least experienced option.

So we can make excuses for the D but not the O....despite heavily investing to be good defensively to win.

OL is a joke currently.  Injuries are absurd. Lines are the foundation.  2015 was an example of perfectly scheming around an OL (hence leading the NFL in helping them through max protection).  They were weak in 2015.  Reports are the staff knew the league would catch up to their gimmick around the OL.  We didn't have a good OL in 2015....coaching (and Cam) deserved a nod there and still doesn't get it.

opponents simply no longer allow the drastic aid (which is factually backed up) we gave a weak OL in 2015.

The foundation on D doesn't stink.  It does on O.
