Worst Memory as a Panther Fan?

In all 22 seasons, what is your absolute worst memory while watching panthers football, and before a bunch of people say Super Bowl 50, try to think of something other than that. Mine would have to be the Vikings-Eagles games back in 2014, I had such high hopes that we'd turn it around and just got blown the fug out. Keep in mind though, I've only been a fan since 2011 so your memories are probably a lot worse, so go ahead and post your worst memories.

Worst post-season:

1. Kasay's kick in SB 38

2. The 2008 AZ playoff game (the whole game sucked)

3. The 2005 NFC Champ game v SEA

Worst regular season

1.. Luke getting concussed vs the Saints

2. The Nakamura disaster

3.. When Smitty broke his leg

Worst offseason

1. (unmentionable WR incident we are all familiar with)

2. Release of Smitty

3. Rescinding the tag on Norman

Probably walking out of Super Bowl 50 right before the Broncos began taking knees to guarantee the win. I turned around in the parking lot surrounding the stadium only to see and hear Bronco colored fireworks going off while the confetti cannons launched gold confetti everywhere. That parking lot was a desolate wasteland of Panther fans and no one else. I was in shock and proceeded to drive nearly 6 hours back to Los Angeles, sleep in the backseat of my car, and wake up for a 7:00am UCLA football workout the next day. To this day my SB50 ticket is in the passenger side door of my car and it'll probably stay there forever.

The Kasay kick out of bounds was a gut punch. We had that fuging game and then BAM it was basically all over. John was a great kicker but I don't think I'll ever be able to forgive him for that.

Outside of that moment I'd have to say Peppers leaving really fuging sucked. I was convinced we would find a way to bring him back and when it didn't happen it was like getting kicked in the nuts. It felt like he was saying fug you directly to the fans by leaving and since he was my favorite player at the time it really stung.

Delhomme vs Arizona.

I was going to school at A&T, and you'd think with the school being in NC, it would be dominated with Panther fans, but nope it wasn't! (I should've known that growing up in Winston as a Panthers fan)

Anyways, I was all Panther'd out. Had my Gamble jersey on, and was going around campus feeling good. Well, I watched that game in the cafe, and as Delhomme kept throwing the picks, more and more people just came to me laughing and clowning. Finally, I said screw this and just walked out. Of course while I was walking out, I kept hearing the laughing. Never been more embarrassed in my life, but looking back at it, I should've seen it coming. Jake had given hints throughout the season that he was going to self destruct. He finally did it that night.

I was in there like...

    • Overall, fine.  Wish we landed a guy to pair with Lloyd but I presume this means they're giving Trevin one final year to put it together (72nd overall 2 years back).  Flashed potential year 1, had a dud last year.   R1: Freeling LT - Great value and a need; landed our new long term LT that could end up starting off the bat.  Icky had a terrible injury and is not playing in his contract year.  Walker is what he is on a 1-year rental, who even knows how he fits. You get premier OTs early if you can find em' and he has what you want.  I thought he could have gone as high as 6/CLE pre-draft, so am a big fan of the selection.  Looking at this class, he's one of the guys at the top that is like "okay that's the LT".  Others have this right/left or G/T type discussion about them.  Freeling is an LT.   R2: Hunter NT - We didn't really have anyone replacing A'Shawn's snaps in our rotation.  Wharton & Brown aren't 3 downers so adding Hunter to the mix fills a big void. I dug deep into S and LB this draft so was a bit to zeroed in - In recognize the value and impact add in the trenches. R3: Brazzell WR - Intriguing.  Given our history, I don't really want to place any expectations here, but a different style weapon for Bryce. I pretty much expect a WR drafted yearly with this regime. Other notables.. Hecht C - These are the type of rounds where starting centers have been found.  We got a starter for this year, but Hecht seems pretty capable and I like it for a long term find.  SOLID AF.  Wheatley S - A pretty well regarded safety prospect.  And we see it every year (like this one) safeties get hyped, people think they may go sooner than expected, and the league reminds them how it rolls.  Plenty of nice safeties have been found in the 4th-6th in recent years.  Big fan of Wheatley. Can't say I know enough about Lee or the others.
    • I'm excited. I love situations like this when you could potentially find a diamond in the rough on the cheap. And you know guys like this are gonna put in the work and desire way more than others to be great.
