If Not JPP, Could Chandler Jones Fit at DE?

6'5", 265 lbs. and will be 27 in February.  I feel like he used to be a DE in a 4-3, but has been playing standing up outside in the 34.  I'm trying to remember if he has any prior red flags other than underproducing.  We need a DE and Jones had a few beastly years up in New England.

If he could fit, what would his pricetag be after an underwhelming year in AZ?  Would Gettleman re-up Star, KK and spend some dough to bring in Chandler too?

I'd take him in a heartbeat. Guy is playing out of position in Arizona IMO

Isn't AZ a 3-4 team? From what I remember, I could be wrong. But NE runs a 3-4 as well. I don't think he was out of position for them. Of course he wasn't always 265 tho, was lighter, playing the OLB position for them.

For us he could play DE but he'd need to add at least 10 more pounds.

I might be wrong- but for some reason I had thought Arizona was trying him at diff position. I thought I read that this offseason. I think he's a good 4-3 D-End

    • Btw... only Mitch fugging Marner has a better +/- than Key 🔑!!! And, Mitchy needed 5 more games and almost 100 more shifts to get there.
    • I was honestly flabbergasted to see Rod send out Stanky and the boys to to matchup against their top line to start the game. The reason that line has been so effective is because they've been matched mostly against 2nd and 3rd lines all year. You've got last change. Use it to your advantage.
    • Nobody played well on defense last night. But, the vitriol towards Chatfield (and to a lesser extent, K'andre) is bigly misplaced. People (not just you) just refuse to accept how bad Slavin has been this season. And, I get it. Canes fans (and informed analysts) have spent nearly a decade trying to explain to casuals just how good Jaccccob is at hockey. 4Nations happened and the hockey watching public started to listen. National media even started floating the idea of creating a new award in his honor. Then this season, he gets hurt. It happens. NBD. But, when he finally came back, it wasn't the same. He'll get back to his old self in no time. Probably just some rust, it'll be fine. Only, it wasnt rust, and he's not fine. He's bad right now. It wasnt just last night. Although, that was absolutely the worst game of his NHL career. Slavin (-4) currently has the 3rd worst +/- of anyone left in the playoffs. We've  been begging the world to recognize Jaccob Slavin's greatness. And, by the time we finally got people to listen, he shits the bed! I blame Kash!
