He is, but there are other factors, same as there are with free agents.

It'd be up to Wilks to decide the best option for him and his family.

Pull up this forum 12 months ago...people were genuinely scared of losing Shula to a HC job...I wish it would have happened

I hope McDermott stays. With an improved DB corp next year our D will be fine. Plus if need be next year he could step in for Rivera if we falter out of the gate. We're in desperate need of change on the Offensive side of the ball, hope we don't get raped of our quality coaches on the Defensive side.

Sure, I was just assuming that if McDermott left, Rivera would make Wilks the defensive coordinator therefore him leaving with McDermott to be defensive coordinator would be a lateral move. Mute point thom McDermotts noy getting a HC gig

Exactly...people are pretty simple on here with their thinking....McDermott leaving would be terrible as like you said...he'll take some of the actual good coaches we have here and give them a promotion.

We're better off keeping him he's a good DC.

I'd prefer to keep everyone on the defensive side. Continuity for them young CB's is important if we plan on making a run next season.
