Packers getting preferential treatment from local authorities/press?

It's a perk obviously from the local PD and their media. I feel no certain way about it though. Only time it's a problem, to me, is if the organization is in on some type of coverup or shield to keep the league from finding out.

Bigger question, though. Sam was on IR due to a concussion and was arrested due to a weed issue? LOL depending on the organization and player, this would've been a big deal.

Valid. If the Packers were involved, that'd be a pretty huge scandal.

Makes me wonder though. How often do you see stories about Patriots players getting in trouble?

(Aaron Hernandez aside, of course)

There was a really good article about Hernandez on SI's website I think that went all into his past. Anyway, during that article, they talk about how the police would call the team before they'd try to bring a guy in, or they warn players. The NE police are in the Pats' pocket. Or at least they were til Hernandez.

Now that's interesting.

I meant of the less-malicious sort.

Irrelevant comments do nothing to support an incorrect statement. Had you singled out Green Bay though...

Meant GB, but have also been to Madison and wasn't exactly blown away (I've only ever lived in Atlanta, Boston, and NYC, so I may be a bit spoiled -- especially by the latter two).

I'd look it up but I'm on my phone so it's kinda difficult. I might be combining two patriots articles.. there's one about Hernandez that goes pretty deep and one about that guy who is always with belichick and who masterminded spygate. I forget which one talks about it. Both were very good though.

If they just don't report it in the news that is their call.  If the authorities don't arrest that's a problem but in this case they are arrested and suspended.  I doubt the league gets their info from reading the local papers.
