I know that, but it has been ugly and guys have gone down with injury in that span. It has mostly been Aaron Rodgers doing his thing.

I agree it's been mostly on Rodgers greatness but that doesn't change the fact Atlanta held him in check for the most part. They can also learn from the Steelers moronic game plan of playing zone

if anyone can figure out a way to slow down Atlantas offense it is Belichick. Remember the Rams back in 99'? He's done it numerous times versus the Colts.

And why do so many people confuse #1 scoring offense/defense with #1 offense/defense? It isnt that hard. Like so many people keep saying we had the #1 offense last year which couldnt be further from the truth. We were the #1 scoring team last year. Just like the Patriots have allowed the fewest points this year. Thats it.

i'm sure that if/when the patriots beat atlanta we'll have a bunch of people parroting "defense wins championships" while they forget that new england had a top 5 offense this year

You mean a team that is balanced on offense and defense? Say it aint so!!!

The patriots having the number 1 defense is misleading due to the QBs they have faced this season. They are very well coached but not very talented.

If they don't choke Atlanta could expose them and drop 40.

Yepp I agree. They are in the worst division in football.

Bull-chit

The Packers have the best pass blocking line in the league. Having Cobb, Adams, Cook, and Nelson also helps. These guys were first and second rounders who have have been quality players for a while. They torched a good Dallas defense, and the best defense in the league (Giants) prior to playing Atlanta.

Have you seen Big Ben play lately? He's been horrible.

The steelers offense is inconsistent, the Falcons has been historically great this year.

The Falcons defense just held the hottest offense in the NFL to 21 points

It does not help that GBs defense is a sieve yet again this year

how does Capers keep his job year after year after year?

lol quantify it however you want to make the Falcons look better, but Green Bay was 2nd worst in the league in pass defense and Atlanta was 5th. Green Bay was 7th in passing offense, while Atlanta was 3rd.

This game, if Rodgers had all his weapons at full health and a true RB, would have been closer (with both teams scoring in the 40s.)

Rodgers was their leading rusher on a whopping 4 carries.

Green Bay dug their hole with that fumble in the 2nd quarter, then not being able to stop All-World Julio on those two scores...

I wouldn't be surprised if the Patriots win LI by more than two scores, tbqh.

    • Very True--and I am a former HS English teacher.
    • Not a Moore fan-but he had a few good games last year-but I want players that scare you--Renfrow's route running and intelligence, Legette's size, speed, and strength, AT's intelligence and route running, Coker's body control, strong hands, and abilty to win contested catches, and TMac's size, body control, and ability to find soft spots in zone coverages.  Horn gives them the ability to stretch the field and he plays special teams.   Moore has a nice smile and can dance.  He filled in well last season, but to get better as a team, you have to upgrade your players.  I think Moore is a bottom of the roster guy who got bumped when we drafted 2 WRs and signed a legit free agent.  Here is the thing--TMac makes us better because he is great against the zone--man?  Good luck with that.  AT's role can be reduced, and that is probably a good thing.  He can specialize in situational football. Coker?  Just getting started. XL?  Just getting started.  Drafting TMac was probably a bit of a wake up call, but XL will be better as the 2. Renfrow?  I see him splitting reps with AT--keeping both fresh and giving different looks. Horn?  Watch the safety cheat his side when he is in the game--I see a young Steve Smith type in him, but he has yet to play a game.  I hear that Morgan loves him.
