JPP looking to get paid.

According to Ralph Vacchiano:

"I'm not playing (again) on no one-year deal," he told reporters the day after the Giants' season ended. "I've proved it. I've showed it."

So yeah, he'll be expensive. According to a source familiar with his situation, he has his eyes set on at least the five-year, $85 million deal (with $52.5 million guaranteed) the Giants gave Olivier Vernon. Given the number of teams with cap space to spend who are likely to be looking for a pass rusher -- including the Cowboys -- he might end up with more.

Two double digit sack seasons out of seven and now he's playing with a mangled hand. He had seven sacks this season.  Five and a half of them came in the last two games of the season... against the Browns and Bears who hold the first and third overall picks, respectively. Sacks vs. playoff bound teams? Zero. Pass. HARD pass.

It wouldn't shock me if he got it. Vernon got that contract after back to back 6.5 and 7.5 sack seasons with only one double digit sack season to his name. Them again, Vernon was also three years younger than JPP at the time and had two fully functional hands. I could definitely see JPP getting say 4/$60M from somebody. JPP is just demanding that contract because he's mad that the Giants gave a FA DE that money instead of him. All he had to do was not blow off his hand.

I'll bump this thread when I'm right, so you can kiss my ass.

be my guest, I'm not the slightest bit worried about this coming true. I wont be kissing your ass if you are right though. you'll maybe get me saying you were right but thats about it.

but with that said, will you at least come back here and say you were wrong? I wont ask you to kiss my ass, thats just juvenile.. you just have to declare in a topic linking to this post that your name is "john snow" and "you know nothing".  I'll even give you a $20m cussion, so if he signs within $20 million of his $85m asking number you can claim victory. so do we have a deal?

    • I wish we could upgrade safety and put Scotts ass on the bench. ILB and Edge would also be nice.
    • It was hard to imagine beating Dallas and GB, so at this point I put nothing past this team. There are no asterisks in the record books.  Yes, Kraft got knocked out, but our piece meal line blanked one of the premier pass rushers in the league and our RB is playing like prime AP. DB is our best DT in 23 years, shuts down the run and draws at least 2 holding calls every game. This is one of the better secondaries this team has ever fielded.  O line depth may be the best this team has ever had and I am now comfortable in saying we have FINALLY found a true franchise LT. We have a stud #1 wr whose potential is just waiting to be unlocked and we also have an all world RB (for now).  This is neither a bad nor a good team, but they’ve showed identity and that they CAN  hang with the better teams in the league. They 100% look the part of a Panthers team. Physical team that runs the ball and plays fundamentally sound defense, usually. They’ll lose close games, get boat raced at least twice a season but then out of nowhere win a few they aren’t supposed to. They’ve gone from the easiest to the hardest team to handicap.  They are undeniably headed in the right direction, and are a QB, head coach and a few defensive pieces away from being serious contenders. Besides QB, the offense is set. WTF?  To conclude my mindless rambling, this is the PERFECT team for Mike Tomlin to come next. He and Morgan would mesh very well.  I have no expectations going forward but nothing will surprise me at this point.
