Moving Down to 12

I am not one to normally look to trade out of a position but the thought came about when I notice a fellow huddler mentioned it is possible all the really big names at big positions we need are gone.  That got me thinking about #12 since Cleveland has 2 picks in round 1.   For that scenario to occur Cleveland would have to pick someone else other than a QB at #1.

You know Cleveland would like a QB and if one is available at 8 they might be willing to trade up to get him.

If we were to trade down what would we get in addition to the 12th pick?  I don't have the chart that tells a fair exchange.

At 12 who would be worthy of that pick?

Or how about Joe Thomas and the 12th pick?  Would any of you do this?

No fugging way they trade Thomas.  They got crucified for dismantling that OL (minus Thomas) and got the QBs murdered this year.  Especially with them getting a new QB, the last thing they want is the kid to get David Carr'd

That being said. Say Watson is sitting there.  I'd be baiting the crap out of Arizona.  You know they are drooling over him (has put on shows there the last 2 years in the playoffs) And they need a QB bad!

If we did move back, what kind of pick do you think we'd get in exchange for doing so? A 2nd or a 3rd? Should we ask for a pick in next years draft? Cleveland is in a position to make such a deal because they will have a surplus of picks for the next couple of years.

As for Thomas, I like that original proposal, but I doubt the Browns would risk doing that. As they guy brought out above, the last thing you want is for your rookie QB to get destroyed behind a crappy offensive line.

They'd have to include Veldheer or Humphries for me.  Quite frankly I can't see why they would want to keep Veldheer.  They are cap strapped and his number shoots up to $10 million this year. Humphries simply can't play RT but they did invest a 1st in him.

Not sure if they'd give up one of those 2 players.  But we've seen in recent years.  If a teams Needs a QB and a guy they fall in love with is there, they trade the bank.  Could get a 1st rounder or this and next years 2nds

    • Bryce has been playing the best ball of his career the last three games IMO. He wasn't the reason we dropped the game in NOLA. Seattle's defense will be his toughest challenge yet this season
    • I'll be at the game Sunday and up until last year I had a perfect attendance record. Now however I have seen us lose to the Chiefs (last year) and the Bills (this year). So we can no longer rely solely on my ability to pound overpriced beers to propel us to a win.
    • I haven't been able to watch Seattle on a dedicated basis but the Seahawks are a much better team by the all accounts: eye test, record and DVOA. Defensively they are sick. Best DVOA in the league first in rushing and second in passing. Offensively their passing game has been on fire this year led by JSN I can easily see this being like the Buffalo game where things just get out of hand for us early, that being said this league really is week to week and Seattle does have the disadvantage of traveling cross country for an early game.  If and big if, the Panthers are able to effectively run the ball and limit the amount of time Seattle's offense has to generate explosive plays we have a path to winning this game.  Seattle fans won't be happy to hear this but bad Darnold is always lurking in the background. He is truly an enigma to root for bc he will have an incredible throw that only a few people can make but then will turn around and throw the most bone headed pick of all time.  I think ultimately we drop this one as ultimately it's human nature to be looking forward to that week 18 game. But man how special would it be to be leaving the stadium on Sunday with a win and a miracle dolphins upset
