Veteran presence, was handpicked by Dave in the past, it's a given he's here. Bring him. With Ginn most likely gone (again), we need this.

Gettleman was the director of pro scouting. I doubt he handpicked a college player as the Giants would have had college scouts and a GM to make those decisions.

It sounds good though.

VCruz is done

How so?

His production as a 3rd or 4th option was impressive and he easily lead the team in ypc.

I'm sure they would keep him but the way his contract worked it was best to let him go at this point.

The more I think of it the more I wouldn't mind giving him a shot.  If the Giants don't resign him at a more favorable contract.

He's been nonexistent for a while now.

Because of injuries and him not being the number one target I mean dang it's like trying to say you know someone on our team who does not get that many throws in their direction saying they're bad how can they be bad when they don't get that many opportunities to show that they're bad or good we all know who eli is going to throw to for the most part

39 catches and 586 yards on a team with OBJ and Sterling Shepard. That's supposed to be bad and washed up? OK.

Thats what Im saying!! How many yards did Cotchery have? These people are trying to tell me that Cruz can't replicate what Cotchery did for us? I bet you he could and then some. He isnt done yet.

    • Bryce and Dave will determine how many games this team wins next year. It’s not on the WRs. The RBs. LBs. This is about 2 things: 1. Can Bryce continue to come up big in the few key downs that decide most games?  2. Can Canales evolve his play calling to counter punch like the big boys do. Half time adjustments.  teams that score 30+ points on the regular win more games than not. That’s on Bryce and Dave. The offense is top 10 at every position group, save for TE and QB. A baller TE is gravy but not crucial when the receivers are dudes.  The defense is the defense. It’ll be better this season, hopefully by a large margin, but Dave/Bryce is really where it’s at.
    • Normally I'd wholeheartedly agree with this. But I feel like teams figured out this offense after the Raiders game. Bryce was so inept the first 2 games that we couldn't really even run the offense. Dalton's first game showed what we had. But after that game, coverages got a lot tighter and windows were smaller. When Bryce came back in, his ability to extend plays made a big difference. It's really difficult to stop a QB that can beat/escape 1on1 tacklers. It puts a lot of pressure on the defense when you blitz. And he was completing throws in tight coverage with anticipation. Point being Bryce wasn't throwing to wide open receivers that were schemed open by the offense. Occasionally yes. But not often.
    • With the additions we've made to our roster combined with the state of the division and the conference as a whole there is no excuse for this team not to make a legitimate push for 8-9 wins. Anything less is honestly inexcusable. There will be no more free passes for being a doormat in this iteration of the league where even mediocre teams are competing for playoff spots.
