Neither for what they're asking for. If they come down would consider it but couldn't make a decision this year without knowing exactly what we have in Butler.

There's every reason to think Butler has a bright future.  Don't we KNOW what we have in Boston?  Any way to KNOW what we'd have at safety in the draft?

Generally speaking, i would say Short since I think that Dlinemen are more valuable than Safeties.  But we are pretty well set DT, so perhaps Berry, assuming his cancer doesn't return.

I think the odds of Berry coming here are very slim though.

People think they're slim based on history and what we know of GMan.  FUG that.  Let's write a new history.  The Falcons did and nearly won the whole thing by being aggressive and signing Alex Mack who stoned our beloved KK.  NOW is the time to be aggressive and sign a guy that's already stoned the Falcons in his own right.

You really think a rookie who barely played last season can replace KK at DT? Especially with our current DE's? Give me KK over Berry any day.

I do.  KK was invisible for a large portion of last year and one year ago Butler was mocked in the top 20.  Big time talent.  It's time.

KK may have not put up big sack numbers but he was huge in putting pressure on the opposing QB. I like Butler but its ridiculous to expect him to replace a 2nd team All-Pro DT.

Yeah because that really helped us last year.

2nd most sacks in the NFL even with the shaky secondary.

Berry will be cheaper long term than KK. This team needs ends very badly. Berry will be 10 to 12 mill per where Kk will be 12 to 16 mill per. Use the extra money saved and sign the best DE we can.

Butler looked good in limited time last year. He also blocked a kick which is something I haven't seen a Panther do in a long time.

    • When we have everyone playing like they should, we can win the Cup. That has been the biggest problem when we get to the playoffs, but this year seems to be fixed mostly. We could have had multiple if we had done this in the past.
    • Here we go Bryce Stan’s you should love this. Hell it may be one of you.  It has every cliche excuse and then some.  Unintentionally hilarious my limit was reached when he said Bryce had it hard because four play callers.
    • Luke goes in to the specifics of what he looked to accomplish in joint practices.  Basically they may work with someone on the opposing team to stress something they feel is a weakness in their own game in a different way that can be done with someone they are familiar with. That they can have predetermined stresses but since neither wants to get injured and it has absolutely no bearing on anything there is not the level of concern that would be in a preseason game.  He would also even chat with opposing OC.   It seems like an interesting nuance among the vets and savy pros.
