Why not Davis or Williams

There are a lot of people on this board that want us to go offense in the first but the majority of time the pick they want is Fournette and occasionally Howard.

Why not Corey Davis or Mike Williams?  I understand they might not be "rated" as high as Fournette but could they possible help our offense more?  Lets think in best case scenarios:  Fournette is the next AP and Corey Davis is the next Dez Bryant or Julio Jones, which helps our offense more?

Maybe Fournette has a better chance of reaching that ceiling but the idea of adding a true #1 to our offense is tempting.

Davis being from a small school and unable to workout causes me some concerns.

Mike Williams brings nothing to the table that we don't already have. We already have plenty of big WRs who can't create separation. Williams is basically a smaller, surer handed version of KB. I think he'll be a good player, I just think that we need SPEED at the WR position.

I kind of agree with you about Williams but maybe his ceiling could be more of a Fitzgerald type of player.  Hopefully Davis at least runs at his pro day.

I'm not saying either should be the pick, I just find it surprising that some are convinced a RB or TE will magically transform our offense but a WR wouldn't.

I have watch some draft breakdown of both players. Davis is considered the top WR by some and Williams is considered the top guy by others. Personally I like Davis. That dude is a straight baller. He reminds me of a poor mans Julio. Williams is like a Dez Bryant to me. Both are good players but if I'm picking I'm taking Davis.

I think Davis is the total package. Speed, hands, strength. I think Ross could get beat up if he lined up outside

He has speed once he gets going, the problem is when need someone with fast acceleration who can get open quickly

Ross is a Brandin Cooks clone, I think he fits our team better than those two.

    • Oh I was.  But we still had great players.
    • You keep AT unless he WANTS to get traded to a contender during the season.  He's valuable, TET, XL, and Coker need to learn how to be PROFESSIONALS on game day, practice, and the off-season.  That's what you get from AT.  ADDITIONALLY, he is clutch.  He is steady.  At is that savvy vet who will always flash. I really think they keep 7 WR's if Brycen can operate on special teams.  Week 1 you may see us heavy on WR and OL because of the massive amount of injuries across the league.  Renfrow may even be cool starting on the PS since he lives close and wouldn't need to uproot his family.  You can still make nearly 400K as a vested veteran on an NFL practice squad.  You see more veterans hanging around since the age limit was lifted. I think the 1st 53 and PS looks like so...... Offense: (25) QB (2) Young / Dalton RB (3) Chuba/Rico/Etienee WR (7) T-Mac/XL/AT/Coaker/Renfrow/JHjr/Brycen TE (3) Tremble/Sanders/Evans OL (10) Icky/Lewis/Corbett/Hunt/Moten/Brady/Mayes/Yosh/Zavala/Kingston Defense: (25) DL: (6) Brown/Robinson/Turk/Bobby B/Cam Jackson/Sam Roberts OLB: (5) Wonnom/PJ2/NicSic/Princely/Incoon ILB: (5) Rozeboom/TW/Windmon/Cherelus/Bam CB: (5) Horn/MJ/CSW/Thorton/Evans S: (4) Tre'Mo/Ransom/Demani/Scott Specialists: (3) JJ/Fitz/Martin Last spot: Right now I have it as a toss up between DJ Johnson and Bam.  Until NicSic can come back we need an extra edge.  Do we utilize TW more as a blitzer from the middle to keep Bam safe?  I'm not worried about DJJ getting picked up from another team, a little more concerned with Bam. Practice Squad: DavidMoore/JamesMitchell/JacolbyGeorge/Tuttle/Crumdley/Ray/DJJohnson/Kantra/Carter/Blacksheer/ Wright/KrysBarnes/MichaelReid/Safety pick up/RB pick up/QB pick up
