Brandon Marshall released

I read an article where Marshall tried to take the leadership role in the Jets locker room but it didn't blow over that well with some of the players. But we all know what a disaster that team was. He also accepted responsibility and said he learned from the experience and will take different approaches in the future. The guy doesn't seem like a headache at all. He has matured over the years.

He might be carved out of the same mold as KB and Funch but he would upgrade us and can actually help our receivers play to their size. I wouldn't be opposed to signing him. We would still need a deep threat.

This would never happen anyways so nothing to see here.

Wow this WR FA class is looking interesting as fug.

D. Jackson, Pierre Garcon, Alshon Jefferey , Brandon Marshall, Kenny Stills. Some good talent. None of them seem like the type of players the Panthers management would bring in Free Agency though.

Knew this was coming so let me end it right now

1. There's a reason he can't stay on one team longer then two years

2. He's just about washed up

3. He's a serial woman beater, he only who got away with it because no one cared about that until after the Rice video

He is a technician at his position, which is what we need.  His combination of skill and size, as well as the athleticism he still possesses ages well at WR.

Furthermore, I'm not aware of any serial woman beating, or any woman beating for that matter...  i am aware of his wife stabbing him, which was in part later attributed to escalating tensions between the two at the time due to his undiagnosed personality disorder.  He has grounded himself, educated himself, and has gone out of the way to repair any damage done to his reputation from those early years.  He has also done tremendous work in bringing awareness and support to mental illness.  Look at his interviews and mic'd games prior to his stint with the Dolphins and compare it to what he has done since.  He is a completely different individual, who imo, would be an incredible stabilizing force both on the field and in the locker room at this point in his career.  The fit seems too perfect...

And for that reason, I know we won't come anywhere close to showing interest.

    • What I love and hate about this team is it’s more filled with potential breakout players than ever before. JT, XL, Coker, Smith-Wade, Ikem, Trevin… and even Bryce are all guys I could legitimately see taking the next step. But the problem with having so many of those guys is that team success somewhat relies on them taking that step, and some are bound not to. That being said, I’m cautiously optimistic given our softer schedule, the way the offense clicked late last year, and the direction we finally have at GM, coach, and QB. Could see us as a sneaky playoff team.

    • Smith-Wade for me. He has the path to some decent hefty snaps in Evero’s scheme. He held his own last year and improved as he continued to get snaps— If he makes some strides, could be a very capable nickel.  I agree with Sanders. Bryce had some trust in him that final Falcons game post crazy head-stand.  Bryce looked for him a lot that final game and made some critical catches to get us the W. Seems he’s put in major work so I’m hopeful about him.  Wallace will have an offseason under his belt. I like him a lot, was higher graded than most remember in his draft (I.e Brugler had him LB3/70 overall) but he isn’t as cerebral of an LB as we’re used to. I think he could thrive if we get D captain/film-junky type next to him— because right now that’s Jewell.  Still a bit cautious but love the talent. Rozeboom may snag some playing time from him if he’s still working out the kinks.
