That draft pick that makes you say WTF

A CB or DT in the first 3 rounds. It again leaves us not meeting our main needs----OT and offensive playmakers.

Well honestly we'd be fools to wait till the fourth to draft a corner. Even with this draft being as deep as it is at cb you don't wait it out. You draft them if they are sitting at your pick.

I wouldn't want a corner at 8 but anything after that I'm cool with.

Exactly. You have a draft deep at CB. Why would getting a 3rd CB at a great value be bad? So, we should reach for a mediocre OT, who likely isn't going to improve us versus having a CB who might be a 1st rounder in another year fall to us at 72 and not take him? Disregard Sanchez. 5th+ round picks are shots in the dark, hopes if you will. Great value if they hit, but 95% of them do nothing. We have Worley and Bradberry in a division with Evans, Julio, Sanu, maybe DJax, Cooks, Thomas and maybe Snead. I'd be ecstatic if we took Fabien Moreau in the 4th over someone like Connor McDermott, who's likely a turn-style. I want us to poke around OTs in FA and maybe late rounds with guys who have potential, but I don't want to reach in what is a stud filled deep draft at CB, S, RB, TE and DE. We need people at all those spots and this is a fantastic draft to build more in those areas. That said, someone like Bolles or Ramczyk falls to 40, sure, but they won't and I'm not going to be disappointed if we come out of this draft with improvements at RB/TE and a much better pass rush and secondary. That's not a bad thing.

If Moreau is there in the 3rd, mannnn!!!

    • One of his handful of good games... If he can ever get to a consistently high level, then he'd change minds. As it is... Meh.
    • People are also jumping to the conclusion that Darnold would have figured it out here. I very much disagree. He needed a place where he could be a backup for a while with no pressure. So all the pining over him was pointless. Highly unlikely he would do anything but continue to fail had he stayed here. The one that got away was Baker. He was not as bad as he seemed here. He was always a good player but we were a two bit, middle of the road college program grasping at straws. Had we invested the time in Baker that we have done for Bryce, history would have been quite a bit different. To what end, who knows? Doesn't matter. There are a million hindsight stories that are very unkind to this franchise. There is no one that is more significant than the other. It is what it is.
    • He’s a serviceable starter for us that doesn’t cost much. The reason he doesn’t cost much is that he has flaws, one of which appears to be catching the ball.  It would be good to have a better corner opposite JC but he’s not at the top of the list when it comes to people we need to upgrade.
