My wish list was

You only retain Ginn, Addison, Kk, Norwell,CJ and maybe jones..

In FA You sign 2 LT spend on a CB and sign a vet slot WR..

Then you go in the draft and get 

Young DE 

Safety

RB

OT

TE

Slot WR..

After that you feel in depth with undrafted FA and whatever is left on the market..

Every team and every GM keeps players like this every year.

With 60 plus guys on a roster (90 in camp) they're not all going to be all pros.

This is why people freaking out because we re-signed a guy from the bottom half of the roster is so silly.

I just don't see any reason to get upset over any of these signings. You say you want to let the process play out, but you can't even let it begin, without your anxiety on full alert.

That's a start but you aren't giving a real alternative if you leave those other positions vague instead of naming specific players that will be on the market and what they cost to see how much the team would even have left for depth signings later.

Maybe AJ and Ginn?  They're both set to become UFAs, so they could help towards a comp pick, but no, I have a feeling that this year our incoming FA are going to outweigh our losses in FA, and I think we need it to happen this way given our big holes at LT and SS and need to upgrade at WR.  Playing for a comp pick NEXT year is not necessarily playing to win in 2017.

Last year I think Getty tried to work the comp pick angle.  Sure we got nice compensation for Josh.  But most of us wish Gettleman had done more in FA last year, even if it meant a worse comp pick.  Comp picks feel a bit like consolation prizes.  I'd rather have the Lombardi.

But yeah, Bersin & Brown & Fozzy were not going to factor into comp pick scenarios.  NOT EVER.
