here is an obnoxious meta thread:

stop complaining about the panthers and free agency. complaining we don't sign free agents is short-sighted. this is the first year in a decade that we haven't been choked by a salary cap. it's taken half that decade to finally escape those albatrosses. we are finally in a position to fill needs without sacrificing future viability and we're doing it.

bad offensive line? kick remmers to the curb, don't make assumptions on oher. sign a guy who was a top-five pick a couple years ago and let your proven position coach work his magic.

pass rush needs a spark? sign a fuging hall of famer and arguably the best defensive end of all time to rush the passer.

that's two days into free agency. we don't have that many holes on our roster. we have great defensive personnel and great offensive personnel. we need a tune-up, not a new engine. gettleman is far from perfect but he's addressing positions of need in free agency and clearly isn't afraid to spend the money to do it. so keep your stupid chins up: we're a punt returner and a strong safety away from winning a super bowl!

Yea that's one key that I brought up in another thread is that we have good OL coach(es). I think Kalil will improve regardless of where he is at now.

Also I'd add slot corner to your list otherwise yarp.

Just now, CRA said:

so does 75% of the board that hated him now like him again?  I am out of the loop.

football is like nationalism. full of contrived alliances to people you've never met and galvanized hatred towards people you'll never know.

the huddle just collectively experienced a postnational shift. thanks liberals

yeah true, if johnson doesn't eventually resign.

munnerlyn coming home plus somebody like patterson and i'd rank this the best free agency period in team history.

    • Do you see the vision?  As of now our Carolina Panthers don’t have an identity. We are not an offensive powerhouse and on defense we only started getting it together towards the end of the year last year. In my opinion we are much closer to having an incredible defense that scares the daylights out of people. I say the answer is simple and we fully commit to that possible identity.    Emmanuel McNeil Warren (E man)  This guy is like a shark lurking around ready to attack anyone. Fearless. He is easily a top 20 talent in my eyes, and the only reason he isn’t more talked about is because he’s from Toledo. Do your due diligence as panther fans and watch his tape I beg you. Once you’re done watching let me ask you this, if you dropped E - Man into the strong safety spot on the Buckeyes, he isn’t being talked about as one of the best prospects we’ve seen in some time given the skill set you see with this guy? I think so. Put his name on the card and turn it in at 19.    Jacob Rodriguez  High effort, High energy, High IQ guy that flies around the field. We all know Jacob at this point. My only concern is he’s a little bit too good and I’m not sure he makes it to us at our pick in the second. With the additions of Jacob and E- Man I think our defense goes to top 5 in the league. We would have a duo of linebackers that rival anything we’ve had in our past. I’m not a GM so I don’t know what the possible answer could be, but if there’s a way we can comfortably trade up in the second to secure this guy I think we find a way to do it.    Spend the rest of our picks fixing the O - line.    Thoughts Panthers fans? Who’s the ideal duo for yall?
    • OL is arguably much more important to the success of a young QB. (Or any QB)
    • Didn’t get around to watching this one but looks like Pistons played their starters and actually tried…? Unlucky that they sit vs Magic, etc and try vs us. Hopefully we can beat the Heat and then Magic or 6ers with no Embiid. BUT if not, the NBA really should give us the lottery win this year like they did Mavs last year. Another high pick could be our final missing piece and have us as legit top contenders next year and going forward if we’re healthy. Or trade it for a Giannis type
