Acquiring Plumlee Should Be a Fireable Offense

I knew he was bad, but fug...  he's really bad.

Yeah, this team has made some dumb moves over the years but this is easily in the top 3 worse moves they have made.  And depending on how he plays next season, it could end up being the worst.

Yeah man, the last I watched him closely was in summer league with the Pacers, and he looked great there...  but, that was summer league and years ago.

Considering the amount of years and salary we gave up (Hawes was expiring, and Hibbert was either expiring or 1 remaining year), to bring in a guy who can hardly get on the floor and is making ridiculous money for a lot more years...  i'm calling it right now...  this is the WORST move in franchise history, or at the very least underneath Cho's direction.  It hamstrings us for years going forward and he can't contribute.

If it doesn't get him fired then fans should show the franchise how we feel. Settling for mediocre teams and bad team management should not be tolerated by the fans. Marvin who (love my Tar Heels but a bad signing)? Roy who? Marco "the Roman Emperor" Belinelli....hero? MKG..........clank. Batum and Kemba were out there playing 2 on 5 most of the year. Cho is a terrible GM, and has no idea how to spot talent. I do not blame Steve Clifford simply because nobody could coach this team to above an 8 seed at best.

Morrison was a terrible draft pick but the Plumlee trade is 100 times worse.  In Morrison we were getting a college player who we were expecting to be at worse a good NBA player.  But with no NBA experience, there was a chance he would be a bust.  He was.  In Plumlee we knew what we were getting, a mediocre NBA player making $12.5 Million per year for the next 4 years.  Roy HIbbert's contract expired at the end of this season and Spencer Hawes had a $6 Million player option for next season.  That would have least given the team some maneuverability this off season.  As it is now, we are $11 Million over the salary cap for next season.

I don't even hate the Morrison pick.   It didn't work out, but let's be honest, they had no choice but to take him.   He dominated college and like others said, at worst I saw him being a good 6th man to come in and score.   I don't think anyone would have guessed he would have been that terrible.   And at least that pick didn't crush the cap.     I think we made way worse draft picks than Morrison, like DJ over Brooks, etc.

The Plumlee trade definitely is probably a top-3 screw up by this team.

This team is just cursed.   The bad choices, the bad picks.   The terrible luck (Pelicans cheating and stealing the Brow from us lol), Morrison being so bad, Tyrus Thomas just disappearing (dude was a beast the year before),  Stephenson being so bad (never thought it would be THAT bad).    This team just has no chance.  Jordan should be sell, fate hates him.     I think the universe is like, "you won 6 titles and are the best NBA player ever, that's ENOUGH" and won't let him have a good team.

I honestly think the Hornets are in the worse position possible.  Sounds weird but fringe of the playoffs (outside looking in) is the worst.  You just stay mediocre.

Whoever made the Plumlee decision (I never really know what Cho is responsible for because Jordan...), I just want to know what made them think, "this is the move we should make!"

I hear the BS, "Plumlee is an athletic big like Zeller, and will fill that role," but he isn't even close to Zeller in ability, and so far his athleticism isn't nearly as observable as Zellers.

    • I used to think Juan was a Zod alt. Agree he's a great poster.
    • Hawks said nah we good and sent him to the shadow realm aka the Wizards. Cold blooded. I mean they're 2-2 in a series with a young up and coming Knicks team largely through 34 year old CJ McCollum. Even if they ultimately lose the series at least they are there and have something to build on. I think Hornets fans are just beaten down and lack the objectivity to assess the situation. They think we are going to get so much worse if and when we finally change gears. Worse how? We've already been a lottery team for years now. We've already been looking to win our first playoff series in about a quarter century. We already can't get past the play in and in failing to do so we have completely embarrassed ourselves twice looking like we don't even belong. Honestly there is absolutely no excuse for a team like the Magic to be more competitive and successful than us in the playoffs. Absolutely disgusting. But that's just me. I was fuging lit when we got the Hornets back in Charlotte but that is old old news. It's time for these boys to get into a playoff series. Enough is enough. If they can't do it for 2026-27 then they need to make wholesale changes regardless.
    • Not one single pick that is asking me why we drafted a guy in the first place. It was a guy we needed and/or a guy that had certain traits making them stand out. Best of all, I feel everyone we drafted are capable of stepping onto the field this year and have a meaningful role (even Kuwatch on special teams). Obviously, nothing is guaranteed but I'm not seeing any huge flags on guys because they're risky projects or massive overreaches.
