  1. 1. Who Do You Take At 8?

    • Jamal Adams - S - LSU
    • Derek Barnett - DE - Tennessee
    • Garett Bolles - OT - Utah
    • Leonard Fournette - RB - LSU
    • O.J. Howard - TE - Alabama
    • Christian McCaffrey - RB - Stanford
    • Solomon Thomas - DE - Stanford

Of those, Solomon Thomas all the way followed by Howard/Adams, then Fournette, and then the rest.

No real method to my selections other than what I think would help the most this year while also making sense going forward.

Barnett gives us the best pure pass rusher in the draft and nonstop motor at a premium position.

Fournette gives a freakish talent and shake in boots fear to the other 31.

Ecstatic with either.

Mild to extreme disappointment with anyone else.

You'd be disappointed with Thomas or Adams? Hell, behind Fournette, those would be the next two names I'd want. I'd be ecstatic with Fournette. I'd be very happy with Thomas or Adams. I'd be okay with Howard, Barnette, or McCaffrey.

We have like the same brain currently.

If they are all on the board? Adams is now my #2 guy overall, so if all are on the board, we have to draft him.

If he's off, and Thomas and Fournette are there, then we have to go with Thomas, as he is now my #3.

I've always been a Fournette guy, but if I am sticking with my board, and Adams and Thomas are there, then they are both now rated higher than Leonard. RB is deep. DE isn't, and Adams is in a class of his own at Safety, and elite.

    • This And with possibly needing to replace Bryce next year and a deep QB class, I do not hate the idea of moving far enough back to pick up another 1st rounder next year out of the deal. I wouldn't have said that a week ago, but I also never expected us to land 3 big FA's at our 3 biggest positions of need like we have, it totally changes things.
    • The OL has certainly been better than the trainwreck it was three or four years ago. As far as competitiveness let's apply some realism and clarity here. Quite a bit of the competitiveness in 2025 came from the defensive side of the ball which gave up the most points in league history the year before and was one of the bottom 5 units in terms of salary cap allocation for 2025 while the OL was top 3. We had the 26th passing offense last year. And if not for a herculean couple of games from Rico Dowdle we don't back our way into the division title or make the playoffs because we went 4-6 in our final ten games including being swept by the Saints who were starting a rookie 2nd round pick most of us mercilessly mocked when they selected him. In conclusion yes we've seen a difference. The question now is will the investment pay off the way we want. But the only way that happens is if we field a top 15 offense. If we can't even crack the top 20 then there need to be some very warm seats across the board. And I would hope just about anyone here should agree with that.
    • These Spurs are lowkey loaded.  If healthy, they could win it all this year (#2 in the West right now). I still think we’ve gotta keep Kalk on Wemby; he’s not getting completely dominated like every other NBA center.
