The draft insider I was talking about before who had a whole wealth of information strikes again.

This time, the news may or may not be the most desirable.

Still doubting the source? Here's a couple of testimonials:

Dave Te is legit

Dave te is a longtime scout this is probably more legit than most.

To clarify, this would probably mean this year's 8th overall pick, this year's 2nd round pick, and our compensatory 3rd round pick.

Let the meltdown begin.

Fournette is not worth all of that, maybe Garrett, but I would prefer to stay where we are at.

really do not want to give up those picks, but I do think Fournette is worthy. would be much like what ATL did to land Julio with much less of a price tag.

Fournette will be an all time great. Would you trade 2 guys of Kony Ealy and DEvin Funchess' value for that?

No i would not trade away my picks for him..unless we were built like Dallas which we are not.....we have no receivers and no line..if you think he is just going to bull doze thru like he did in college he will not last long..he already has ankle injury...A receiver yes but a rb with no line and no receivers NO!

I'm just not buying it.  Zeke Elliot has singlehandedly over inflated RB value in one year and he did it with the best OL in the league.

Of the Best RBs the last 10-15 years which have translated to Super Bowl wins? AP, Jamal Charles, Tomlinson, Bell, Martin, MDJ, McCoy, Edge James, Lynch, Bettis, Corey Dillon, Barber, etc; of these only Lynch, Bettis and Dillon won a championship and all 3 were past their prime when they won.

Expecting LF to "evolve" the Panther offense behind a mediocre OL is a pipe dream imo.

Not to mention, historically, selling the farm to go up and get a "transcendent" RB hasn't worked out (Ricky Williams, Hershel Walker).

Really think Gettleman is too smart to make this kind of move, at least I hope so.

mr richardson is running out of time and doesn't want to watch dave nickel and dime the team into maybe making another run.

This is the only reasonable rationale for making this deal.

Otherwise, it is pure idiocy imo.

Not if Fournette is ROY and we win a Superbowl.

Then he gets a raise and an extension.

But all of this is conjecture at this point anyway.

Certainly, though I'd say the odds are stacked against that happening.

We have the eighth overall pick for a reason.

You are never one player away.

Idk, but according to Igo, it's either Fournette, Thomas or Adams... two of them will fall with QBs being taken. Keep in mind, if the Browns go with a QB, Garrett is also in play.

I just don't believe Gettleman would trade up with our need of a SS, DE, RB, OT and WR

exactly we have five true needs. could even argue we need to get a C and TE to groom. this draft, while weak on true top players is loaded (according to scouts-the real ones, not podcasters) with solid to good starter level talent.

thats the backbone of the team, if we give that up and we lose the gamble, then what? no one, including two down Fournette, worth that in this draft.

So, this kind of makes since to me but I think it’s just smoke. We all know that Dave doesn’t believe in drafting 7 players. He has stated this several times that he would rather trade up and get value then to use later round picks. He has traded up in each draft and this one won’t be any different. I really think Dave is fine to stay at 8 and maybe get Fortune if not I think he is content with CM or taking a DE. I think we will trade the 2 2nd rd picks to move in to the 1st rd and we will go tackle or if we go rb in the 1st we will take a guy like Taco at DE.

If we trade a 1, 2, and 3 to move up 6 spots, I will poo a fuging fireball.

A 2nd and 3rd is a steal to move from 8 to 2. I've been saying for a while it wouldn't be as expensive as a lot were thinking (next year's 1st + 2nd + x).

I am not sure that ss is a need and C may be a need but this is a very weak draft at center. Also Tackle isnt as big of a need as many think. Dave believes he has his LT in Kalil and at RT all the talk is about Oher but many articles I have read suggest that he will be a back up. We had good play at RT last year and at SS Boston rated as the 11th best saftey last year. The 1st rd pick will be rb or DE and the 2 2nds will be traded for a mid 1st and we will go de,tackle or TE. I would then look for another trade up in the 3rd or 4th round to go rb/te/mlb. Just my thoughts.

    • Yep he made the comment " I dont know what they were doing out there at that point" in the press conference. Let's be real they all got paid but they also know his system suppresses there offensive potential.
    • Yup the casuals on Facebook ive gotten 85 laughing or angry emojis so far for pointing it out.  The amount of them throwing a fit because the canes were booed is insane
    • Why are you so fixated on yards? Even if yards were a good judge of QB play, his low yardage totals in some of those games were partly a function of drops (looking at you Xavier Leggette…).  I’m not advocating that Bryce was elite for the last half of last year, but the eye test certainly supported high level QB play for large stretches. He made a lot of high difficulty, put it on the money/drop in the bucket throws. He converted on 3rd and 4th down, kept drives moving, and put the team in position to win games. And it’s not on him that the defense blew it late after he led game tying drives, Leggette dropped a game winning TD, or Chuba fumbled the ball in OT. We could have finished the season close to .500 with wins against 3 playoff teams including KC and Philly during that stretch largely due to Bryce’s play.    Has he sustained this level of play long enough to deserve an higher ranking? No. But for judging based in that stretch alone, he would. But whether he can perform more consistently at that level or build on that, and thus earns a higher ranking, remains to be seen.
