95% positive it the was the giants who wanted to take mahomes.

What is this love fest with Mahomes? I watched some game tape of his and I didn't see any zip on any of his throws. He's got a noodle arm that not even Clausen or Teddy can match.

We have a team on the cusp, the whole trading down philosophy is for teams desperate to fill multiple key roles.

If anything move up. Guarantee yourself that you are going for a starter and not just some guy that you're drafting to say you filled a need.

Max Henson's piece from inside the war room makes it clear there was no hesitation.

I knew the pick came in with five minutes left. The time that was taken off the clock was used to call and talk to McCaffrey.

Article also confirms that Gettleman didn't even take the calls that came in. He just told his assistant to say no.

    • I agree but he honestly has gotten better about this. Used to be he’d do it like 4-5 times a game, now it’s like 2-3. Overall I’m incredibly happy with his game, his D has been solid and when he is playing his role he’s a solid scorer and one of the few guys who can consistently finish at the rim and provide that threat. Plus he’s electric and LaMelo loves him. Going into the season I was sure he would just be a stop gap here but now I’m reconsidering and could see him continue to be a “core” piece here. Obviously not on the level of the other starters but he is an important cog for this team. We felt his missed presence during his and Moose’s suspensions.
    • Philly will be a bigger challenge than the Knicks were IMO. George and Embiid are back, not sure about Maxey but Embiid alone is a nightmare matchup for us and Moose. We’ve never really done well against him. Celtics added Tatum but honestly not sure they’re all that much better with him right now than they were when we whooped them a few weeks ago. We should be able to at the very least split these 2, hopefully take both.
