Michael Vick plans to sign a one-day contract, retire as a Falcon

Vick has paid his dues and did his time. Good for him. Was one of my favorite NFL players to watch (when he wasn't playing the Panthers) and I'm happy that he seems to have his life back on track.

My sentiments exactly. He was a dumbass for doing what he did, but he's paid his dues. Just let it go.

He's playing a game, and has all you all fooled! Man, please...

He did what he did, went to jail & served his time. There's some in this world who'll never let you make it through your past. It's been years since that all went down, and during that time he's been trying to make up for his past actions. Retire that mans jersey. He's a legend in Atlanta.

Ive gotten too many second chances in this life to poo on someone else who made the most out of theirs.

I HATE the falcons QB who ate our lunch more times than I care to remember.  I hold no malice towards the guy who fuged up, did his time, and by all accounts is a rehabilitated dude that took advantage of his second chance.

Wasn't Arthur Blank the man who pulled the trigger on his release.   If I remember correctly, he was the one to axe him.

While I agree that he committed the crime and did his time.  I think Atlanta will decline his request.

Having learned from his past actions my fervent hope is Rae Carruth can bang the drum the first Sunday upon his release.

He's still better than than Matt Ryan.

No he's not, not even close.  Ryan is a far better passer than Vick ever was. Vick had way to many interceptions for the relatively limited number of throws he made with the Falcons.  And more fumbles as well.  He beat us on a regular basis, but against the rest of the league, he didn't do as well.

Then what the fug is the point of serving if you're always constantly going to be punished I know it's not easy to forgive people but what's the point of punishing if there's never going to be a lesson learned if you're constantly punishing people they don't learn their lesson they just learn to be angry and resentful to those who don't forgive them are those who won't let them move on. I say this is a person who's been arrested that charge is not all that is to me. What's the point of even doing time if you're never ever going to be able to learn something and grow from it no matter how heinous the crime. Amen I get it some people are to never be trusted but what the fug I have a people here mad that's crazy.

Going to prison does not absolve a person of what they do in life.  You torture dogs and people won't forget.  You can move on and be a good person.  But he earned these comments.

I didn't say that I grouped kids and dogs in the same category, you assumed that. Of course I value my kid's life over my dog's, but I'll value the life of either over the life of someone threatening them. Seems like the pro-Vick/anti-dog crowd can't help themselves to try to bend over backwards to create arguments that haven't actually been made. As for your property statement, yes dogs are property that can be bought and sold, but I bet no one's ever been sent to prison for abusing couches. Dogs certainly have more protection under the law than standard property.

You're free to place whatever value on a dog's life that you will.

You'll notice that I haven't tried to lecture anyone on how they should view a dog, I'm simply stating my own personal views.
