Because we weren't winning.  And your point?

Look, I hated Hurney.  But he took us to a superbowl too, remember?  All I am saying is that some of his bad contracts should have an asterisk.  Now his drafting ability in mid to late rounds has always been horrible.

I don't want 1st overall picks. I want 3 division championships in 4 years! I want a guy that goes to the super bowl 25% of the time while digging out of cap hell.

To be fair, we won the division at 7-8-1 one of those years and have benefited from a weak division all 3 of those years.

We have no front office and Hurney is coming back. I seriously doubt I will be eating any crow.

We have GM that is familiar with the organization and will have a year to gather all the personnel before the next off-season.

You will be eating crows , how about Gentlemen's bet ?

While I appreciate everyone's opinion, I am going to go the opinions are like as*holes route. Everyone has one, and they all stink. If the glass is half full, maybe Hurney learned a valuable lesson. He did field several competitive teams during his tenure. The man also worked for free for about three to four months. I will be the first to say, this is not the popular choice, but given the circumstance and proximity to training camp, this is the best choice. If we win the super bowl this year then all bets are off, and I would assume the Interim tag will be removed. Otherwise, the replacement GM can wait until the first of the year when more executives are available.

We have a GM that put us in cap hell and gave us not only the least talented teams we ever had but the most unproductive. If Im a betting man I'm selling short on this team. It's going to be a dumpster fire in a year.

So you fire an executive of the year for the guy that gave delhomme a massive contract after committing six turnovers in the playoffs handicapping us for years and literally putting us in last place In the league. Jerry richardson you're a fuging loser that's why bojangles hasn't gone nation wide. And Thomas Davis you're a fuging snake

Hurney only had the top pick one time...once.

He had a top 10 pick only twice...in 10 years.  Want to try again?

He was historically bad at drafting. It's been proven over and over again. Back that up with not cutting his losses and over paying and we had cap hell. No thanks don't sign me up for that again.

    • 19. Lomu OT 51. Golday LB 83. Wheatley S 119. Allar QB 156. Fisher LB   This is the way.
    • It's still CJ by a wide margin.  BY has closed the gap, but the gap is still considerably large.  Let's not forget CJ was without basically ALL of his weapons in this last game against the Patriots, and I'm pretty sure he had an injury.  BY lost to that same Pats team by like 40 points.  In fairness, a good bit of that was due to the defense.  That said, BY was completely incapable of keeping us in the game.  Mistake free football does not always equal good football.  He still had a bad game.
    • Playing QB in this league is tough.  I can't hate on a man's work ethic without knowing exactly what it is.  From everything I've read about him, I seriously doubt his work ethic has dropped.  He had 2 concussions in 2 years, has his OL downgraded, got a different OC, and lost his best weapons due to injury in these short 2 years after his rookie year.  Throw that in with teams having more film on him and the drop-off makes sense.  Maybe he needs to change what he does in the offseason to adapt better, but I doubt he has an issues with work ethic.
