How do we feel so far about deashon hall ?

i know it's early , but im a little concerned about his bend and overall flexibility. There were some decent players on the board.......even though we need to groom some young DEs. Seems like the motor is there, just wanna see him finish some plays in the next few PS games

His athletic traits are on par with Solomon Thomas and Myles Garrett, just needs to fix a lot of that technique and bend. He's a project who will be pretty good down the road.

Well he did pretty well in the preseason game getting legitimate push and pressure. I mean, sure I'd like him to actually sack the QB, but pressure and hurries shouldn't be understated.

At this point I'll take it---with a grain if salt, no doubt---but I'll take it. When a rookie that wasn't quite where he needed to be to be taken in the first couple of rounds shows signs of development this early on, albeit against backups, it's a good thing.

He's fast as hell...work on his hands and we might have a Jason Taylor type with time.

If he somehow morphs into Jason Taylor 2.0, then this may turn out to be the Panthers' best draft in franchise history, of course provided that Samuel and CMC are who many think they are and Moton continues to progress! Yeah, maybe some big "ifs," but not so unbelievable in terms of the latter three.

    • He makes a good point about Wallace.  In fairness to Wallace it is hard to play your position as freely as you need to when your defensive line is getting pushed around like ragdolls.  One of the greatest attributes a defensive line has is sucking up blocks, freeing up your linebackers.  Our defensive line couldn't suck up a lollipop more or less blocks.  I think Evans, Sanders and Tremble are going to be a really nice TE group.  I can see all three getting time on the field.  If Sanders can improve as a blocker teams won't be so inclined to believe it is a pass play whenever Sanders is on the field.  Ryan Fitzgerald, I think was an awesome pick-up. Hopefully he can fill our kicker void. Luke Kandra many turn out to be our next Norwell.  Everything I have heard about him says he's a beast.  He needs some refinement, but the good news is he's got Hunt and Lewis (arguably the best guard tandem in the league) to learn from.
    • Great teams build through the draft and have several young players that start that are on rookie contracts. It's important to hit on players in rounds 4 thru 7.  These should be future starters and solid depth.  When you hit on most of your picks you free up a lot of cap space for those one- or two-year players to fill spots you are thin at. No GM is going to perfect on all their picks.  You're going to whiff every once in a while.  That was Hurney problem.  He'd nail the first pick but after that it was reach after reach and we couldn't get any depth on this team. I'm excited about Morgan as our GM and hopefully he'll be around a long time.  It will be even better if Canales can continue to grow as a head coach, both in the development of young players and play calling. I remember last season after Young came back in the lineup and started to perform well.  We saw different plays I had only seen other teams use.   If Canales's play design and play calling continue to grow. Morgan and Canales will be linked together for a long time.  It would be nice to see a Coach and GM together for a decade or two. Go Panthers
    • They also came out for the encore and the singers were dressed in canes jerseys. Pretty fuging cool.
