I'm not prone to being knee-jerk, but I don't think Funchess is going to do anything good enough here to justify starting.

A straight up trade for Funchess would be ok by me. Dorsett has enough speed to offer something different, and maybe Funchess would do better with a faster guy like TY Hilton.

I think the offensive line is going to give time provided they stay healthy. But our receivers have got to get open. KB doesn't need a ton of separation as big and strong as he is, but Funchess just seems to play small.

Kind of like Stewart and CMC, it's good to have guys that compliment each other. Simply put, that's not KB and Funchess.

You know damn well the Panthers aren't doing anything smart like that. We will go into the season with what we have and call it a day. Seriously though, offer Funchess, and if that's not enough, offer Funchess + a late round pick like they want.

The guy is taken out of virtually every play. What good is speed if you can't handle an average sized DB with average strength?

I'm thinking more about how we used Ginn. Go routes, end arounds, etc. At worst, the defense would have to respect his speed.

I could be wrong but I don't think Dorset can run routes worth a damn. He may have more speed but that's all he has. If the colts are willing to give up on a 1st round pick before his rookie contract is over then that should tell you something.

Ginn wasn't the most physical and his speed wasn't sudden. He also suffered from big time drops. The difference really lies in the type of offense we play versus Indy. We rely on the run and play action. Deep speed receivers do well in this scheme because securing the edge for corners defending the run is so important. This leaves opportunity for big plays if caught peeking in the backfield. 

Just like we gave Ginn a career when others couldn't, I believe Dorsett is a better fit here than he is in Indy.

Didn't like him and said he was overrated coming out and I'll say it again.  Just a shorter version of Ginn.  Traditional ran the combine 40 blazing speed and went from late/mid 3rd rounder to a first rounder.  7th rounder late I may take a fly, heck maybe a 6th since we saw what Ginn did in this offense.  Just see him as a slight upgrade to Byrd

Dorset is just another example of why you don't raise a player on your draft board because of thier combine stats.

      I don't think it was fear of the unknown because he tried to hide the extent of the injuries that made him drop. After the drop, the reports I heard were that teams knew what was wrong with his knee and it was something similar to another athlete from a few years ago (honestly don't remember if it was even a football player).  That it was basically one of those things where he should be fine for a while, there isn't a huge concern of immediate injury risk.   But what he has going on with his knee is something that is degenerative and there's little chance he'll be able to play more than 5 or so years on it before he won't be able to play anymore. So basically it was teams knowing if they draft him, he's probably going to be only a rookie contract player and even if he's great, you might not be able to get use out of him on a second contract.  Which in turn makes the drop make sense, but I'm kinda surprised some contending team didn't take him late in the 1st, hoping he'd put them over the top on a SB run but then not even have to worry about giving him a big contract in 4 years too.

      Depends if they see the writing on the wall with their roster and contracts and decide to bite the bullet and begin a complete rebuild and roster overhaul.  I have no clue why some franchises (IE us) refuse to do this and keep half assing trying to win 8 games or so.  Do it correctly, take your lumps and build a contender.  We shall see what loomis decides.

      Each team plays 17 games.  I do not see why they don't just have each team play one international game per year.  Neutral site game, 8 home, 8 away.
