i remember them all being short.  Not sure if designed that way or what

Does it really matter anymore with rule changes?

Anyway Gano can go away.  I NEVER feel comfortable with him kicking.  Even PATs are an adventure.    Time to say bye to Oh-no-Gano and his overpriced tag.    I'd say, let's see how he does, but the way Rivera coaches a missed field goal could be a loss 90% of the time lol.

I don't understand why anyone would be happy to see Gano out, I have more faith in our kicking game going into this season with him than I would with an unproven rookie.  Gano has missed big kicks, but he's made big kicks too.  Relying on a rookie kicker going into the year seems very risky, if he starts blowing kicks then we bring someone else in and it turns into one of those bad unsettled K position situations.

The time for Gano to go is NOW

Based on a quick espn search I have learned Gano's 78.9% accuracy last year was 26th in the league. Only ahead of CHI, CLE, MIA, BUF, ARI, and Tampa. What do all these teams have in common? NONE made the playoffs. Sounds like a change needs to be made.

Miami made the playoffs.....but yeah

Butker was a 72% kicker at Ga Tech

Butker was 8-8 from 40+.

Butker, for whatever reason, was good enough to be the only drafted kicker in Panthers history.  Give him a chance!

Or not.

Just try something other than Gano.  No excuses.

Should have made that kick in Denver.

And the XP in Seattle 2015, New Orleans in 2016, the Super Bowl itself, and others.

No kicker is perfect, but this isn't a coincidence.

He sucks overall, but even moreso under pressure.

A lot of other far more important things in our control should have happened in Denver. And the refs. Our whole season wasn't dictated by our kicker, nore was it saved. But he did win us quite a few games in the past. Remember the last time we played San Fran in San Fran?

I have little faith in Gano after last season.

I have less in Butker after seeing him all camp.

Then get creative.  Anything.  Gano and our 6th to the Lions (who are without a 6th and now saddled with an absurd salary @ QB) for Matt Prater.  Anything.  But.  Gano.
