No but we improved our personnel and defensive coordinator. Looked good huh?

Not that good.

Helped a lot that we played a team that looked horrible.  Bad in they had a first time head coach that clearly has a lot to learn.

It's a decent start, but not enough to say we've turned a corner or anything.

All offenses look bad when you get pressure and play great man. Watch how many bad offenses we play this year. LOL.

I expect our defense to be good. That's rarely been an issue.

I do too. We are built on defense. These guys are all in. Especially guys like Davis, Pep, and Adams who only have a year or two left. We were aggressive but didn't need to blitz to get pressure. That was a huge upgrade from last year.

There are two things I always remind myself not to do on opening day. Don't get too upset if we lose, and don't get too excited if we win.

Today was good, but far from great.

We'll see.

    • At this point the Tepper's seem to be leading you around by the nose based on how much time you spend carrying water for them so I'm not surprised you're struggling. We are the only team who saw fit to install Andy Dalton with his zero career playoff wins as a culture cornerstone and a key mentor. Even the putrid Saints wanted no parts of that. Truth hurts 🤷‍♂️
    • They have drafted two QB's since they took Hurts in the 2020 Draft. Tanner McKee(6th - 2023) and Kyle McCord(6th - 2025). In that span we have drafted Bryce Young(1st - 2023) and Matt Corral(3rd - 2022). Technically, we have invested significantly higher draft capital on QB's(albeit one less than they). It's not the investement that is the issue, it's the results. Corral was literally not a rosterable player with a THIRD ROUND PICK. We gave up a king's ransom for Bryce to basically get Davis Mills results(so far).
    • No QB from the draft or free agency was going to change this being a losing season for us. I mean we’re rebuilding, everything we’re doing is meant to be for winning tomorrow.
