Looking Ahead NE, Detroit and Philly

Our team uses the next game is the most important game attitude but since I was able to see a couple of our opponents yesterday I thought I would drop my two cents worth.   I know it was the first game for all teams and as the weeks go on more game film will be available.

Last night, thanks to AFN, I was able to see the Lions and Philly and Friday, I was able to watch the replay of the New England game. Also watched the Oak/Tenn game.

We could be 3-0 going into the New England game providing a meltdown against New Orleans.

The injuries to New England's defense, if they are sustained injuries, will be a concern for them and we have the talent to beat them.   Fortunately for us they play Houston at home before they play us.  So back to back loses in Foxboro isn't very likely.  We could hand them their second loss at home.   I think we have the defense to beat them.  Cam should be rust free by then.

Game 5 against Detroit in Detroit is going to be rough.  They have some good running backs and Stafford, given time, can really hurt us.  Watching him tear up Arizona impressed me and this could easily be a loss for us.   Hopefully, by game 5 we will be in mid-season form defensively.  If we play like we did today, especially in the 1st quarter Detroit is going get out early on us and it could be game over.

Game 6 against Philly will be at home so we have some advantage at home but Wentz looked pretty good they have some decent weapons too.  Washington isn't t as good as they were last year and Philly is much improved.

I would love to see us go through this stretch with all W but if we can make it to Chicago 5-1 or 4-2 I would be happy about this stretch.

Philly worries me. Watch how they relentlessly and quickly might I add, blitzed Kirk cousins. Can cam make those super quick decisions? Right now not sure. Let's hope he can by then.

Cam has never made quick decisions under pressure. Don't think he will all of a sudden start to.

Does life suck being miserable all the time? Or would you consider yourself a happy person? I'm genuinely interested.

Not at all miserable, I just see reality where some feel the need to look through rose colored glasses. Anyone that pays attention has watched Cam hold the ball far too long for 6 seasons, not to mention his terrible mechanics.

    • Another thread where the Huddle melts down over a Bryce comment.  "Conversations" and "Bryce Young has been signed to a new long-term contract" are still far away from being the gospel.  For a fanbase that has watched two top-3 drafted QBs come here, and us move on, only to see them elevate their play elsewhere, I find it comical. Bryce is flawed but this org is damned if you do and damned if you don't with BY9.  Why would our GM and HC say anything other than supportive about their QB1. Yes, he's extended, but I truly do not think if he goes out and has a repeat of the previous seasons, that he is here beyond 2027. They're giving him every opportunity and surrounding him with a ridiculous amount of assets on both sides of the ball. If he continues to pitch 110 yd/ game and cough up the ball while everyone else is busting their ass, no way Dan keeps him beyond the extension.
    • Ooof, I was not a Proctor fan. I agree w/ a lot of smarter folks than me that he's more of a guard and think his weight fluctuation is going to be something to navigate. I liked Lomu a lot, but figured there would be more talented guys there at 19. I also wasn't big on bringing in a TE via the draft. If it's not a vet (Njoku) or a trade for Mayer or Kmet, I'd just as soon see what the youngsters have. No need cluttering the room with more of the same.
    • Sam Darnold & Bryce Young are two very different Qbs ..just saying the last 25 years approximately 2/3 of ALL  first round Qb's  in the NFL were or are bust.so for everyone who makes it like a Sam Darnold you have two that don't make it or are a bust
