WTF do people keep saying CLT is a small market when it's the 16th largest city and 22nd largest MSA in the USA? A number of larger areas don't even have an NFL presence, and furthermore, Charlotte is experiencing double digit growth, putting it in the top five of 25 largest areas. Given that there are 32 teams, worst case, we're average sized for an NFL market. Facts man. Facts.

 The team will get better as the season goes on. We don't want them to peak now and then fall out later. 

 It's great if we can bumble through some low hanging fruit and then improve the look  like the Super Bowl team.

Not really, they should,  its what the Panthers bought, a D.  Cam isn't super accurate at times and we didn't invest in a running back.  Now Olsen is hurt, JStew is effective but a little long in the tooth.  McC isn't poised to be an every down back...that damn D better work, its what they purchased.

i don't think it even matters that much considering that all 32 teams have the same salary cap to deal with
