Good article and pretty much agree with all.  A wild horse that looks like Cam Newton needs to run free... let's stop asking him to be Tom Brady and let him do what comes naturally.

I totally agree with this.   The one thing that bothers me is defenders are intentionally creating helmet to helmet contact with Cam.  It started with the Atlanta Game in 2015.   Until the refs start calling this, which they won't because Cam is a RB. From what I have heard the rule is they don't call helmet to helmet for RBs.  Nature of the beast.

So every time Cam runs they go for the head.  They damn sure can't bring him down any other way.

Sounds like even had we fired Shula at the end of last year like everyone wanted, we'd still be in the same spot because Cam has not been able to get reps with the first team.

Question for me is, do you stick with a running Cam for 4 years knowing he'll be broken down by then or do you try to stretch Cam out to 8-10 years not really knowing if he'll ever be a top 10 pocket quarterback?

Basically what I said during the off-season, Panthers are a run first team and TEs are more valuable than WRs. We need to use Samuel , Shepard , & Byrd when we have TEs on the field to stretch defense out on PA ,bootlegs & roll outs .

You have to take your chances not running him. As he gets older he'll be more injury prone and things will take longer to heal. Even if you run him and he plays great, one bad hit could kill the entire season. You can't take that kind of chance every game. You have to hope he can change or draft another QB.

You take away the option for Cam to run and he turns into Blake Bortles.

Main disagreement  I have with Schwartz is the Oline isn't solid- with R. Kalil missing time and M. Kalil missing blocks, there's no way to judge  the offense right now.

It's refreshing to read something that comes from actual knowledge of the game. So we have made changes to the offense and it's not the same old same old. Hasn't worked but it's not the same as I keep hearing.
