Execute better than they do; change nothing based on opponent... typical lame duck coaching motto.

He doesn’t innovate and that’s why he will never be a great coach.

So cuz he wants the team to do what it does best, he won't be successful? That certainly is an interesting take. I would rather not see them attempt stuff they're not good at, just for the sake of evolving.

Didn’t say that; I said it’s why he won’t be great. No special schemes is also why we lost the super bowl. He just let our tackles get toasted with no changes. If he sees no need to make any sort of special scheme against arguably the best QB ever, then we’re going to get drummed just like our “stick to the same game plan” scheme allowed against the Saints.

There’s a reason why every Sunday the game day thread has multiple people complaining that we make 0 adjustments. He openly admits in the OP’s quote and has proven before that he doesn’t feel the need to, regardless of opponent or situation. Changing schemes based on opponents doesn’t mean we automatically won’t be good at it, but I can see why you would think that.

Well... that should be easy.

That's exactly what's going to get him fired and how stubborn some coaches are. That's exactly why they are out coached every game. ITS THE SAME DAMN GAME PLAN EVERY WEEK. Good coaches and teams study film and try to take advantage of other teams problems and specialties. Nope, not in Charlotte. SMH, this is exactly what Teddy Bruschi said the other day on First Take. I hope this coaching staff is gone with a new GM coming in. That's why this TALENTED roster is average every couple years with a winning team every other. I liked Rivera and I believe in stability and patience in football, but it's time to get a young offensive coach for Cam Newton and CO.

Same mindset of Jeff Fisher-LA Rams were atrocious and Goff looked TERRIBLE.

Shaun Mcvay- LA Rams look like a really good playoff contender in the future. Totally different team.

WASTING ALL THIS TALENT upsets me being a live long fan.

So last week. RR played Shaq over Capt because of the ain't TEs. I guess that doesn't qualify as an adjustment. But according to most of these yahoos, RR is incapable of making adjustments.

It is almost like folks don't believe that if you do your job well, and the guy next to you does his job well, and so on. You can play very good Defense. Without having to do all that other stuff.

This team has some great teachers. So I do expect the level of play to go up this week.

I keep telling everyone jumping all over Shula that he is only doing exactly what Ron wants.

Get rid of Shula and the next guy will be just like him.

The problem is at the top.

Don't stop there, Rivera is doing exactly what JR wants. JR love these types of coaches. Old school defensive coaches that build a good family environment. Rivera is no different than Fox tbh. And then fans wonder why this franchise still does not have back to back winning seasons after 20 years. We are so stuck in the past.

You must be some kind of special, to believe that we don't have plays within our scheme/system/whatever, that are there to play against certain fronts/schemes/teams.

But cause he doesn't draw up new poo from nowhere week to week,  many feel our coaches don't make ajustments.

I'd be lying if I said I haven't growled at the TV wondering why they don't try something that think would work.  As much as I've watched football, I'm not going to pretend/assume I know more than our coaches. That's ignorant.

I also don't hate on them just cause they do something I don't agree with.

You and others can scream all you want , doesn't make you right.

Drink your beer now, and come up with something else to bicker about, in an attempt to belittle someone ya don't agree with.

All we need is the CBs to protect the sideline, force plays back to the LBs, and keep the offense from getting an easy 8 yards before challenging the play. The CBs present zero threat to an offense. Until they show they can force fumbles or threaten to make a play on the ball in the air, every offense is going to throw and run at them most of the game.
