Help me find a player

Can somebody tell me where is Vernon Butler? Is he still hurt? Is he warming the bench? I want to know what happened to our former 1st rd draft pick.

Not sure. All I know is when most people were being complacent with the injury report information that I was one of the few questioning what grade the tear was as this is pretty important in the timeline of rehab.

 

Hope he’s back soon. That rotation is going to be a monster.

He's made a couple plays.  He blew up a run in the backfield against the Pats iirc.

Big Vern had a great tackle for loss last game. 

PFF gave him a 71.6. One of our top five defensive players in the game.

One good play does not a not bust make. 

 

Im not saying he is one yet, but some serious growth is gonna be needed to escape that label...and I absolutely believe he can do it...

I could bring up so many other examples, but y’all do y’all.

Butler’s been a force. Limited time coming off injury, but he’s really close to breaking out imo.

To play devil's advocate:

I mean, there's legitimacy to the pushback of drafting him, and yes, you can't change history.   Also, yes, he seems to be making a play here and there, but this is year 2 for him and we saw how everyone was treating Funchess year 2.  

The amount a slack given to his output compared to other draft picks and expectations is huge.  Sure, we're deep at DT but you cannot ignore the situation since the moment he was drafted.

That draft felt weird positionally and it still does no matter how you view the whole BPA thing.

Funchess was drafted to start and produce immediately.  Bad situation for a super young rookie.

Butler was drafted because BPA.  He was never supposed to start right away, contracts were looming and when exactly would be the best time to pull Star or KK and put in a recovering 2nd year DT?

Actually missed most of the game wedding planning and never read anything that said he was active. Fug me, right?

I'd like to see him or KK at DE instead of Charles Johnson from time to time. 

 

Johnson is MIA again this year.

Big Vern needs to be more consistent & ample up his  production the play here and there evey 5 game  is not enough for a 1st round pick. 

BTW Hunter Henry should have been the pick can’t place all the talent on one side of the ball.
