3 Minutes 1 T.O. on their side of the field...

Aside from all of the other miscues leading up to the last 3 minutes of the game last night, the Panthers had the ball around midfield with 3:10 on the clock with 1 T.O. remaining and the 2 minute warning.  Any coach who has ever coached football knows that you want to score with very little time left on the clock because the opponent has already matched up and down the field on you for 28 points leading up to this point... So what does Shula do...

3 straight passing plays that ended with 3 incompletions of throws all 20+ yards down the field, 1 to CMC on a go route ball landing in the endzone...

What in the Absolute F***

3 minutes with technically 2 timeouts ball at midfield and in opponents territory and you call that horse crap...

Literally sat in the stands scratching my head not even knowing how to feel, somehow the Eagles pull some similar crap and give us YET another opportunity and what does Shula call on 3 and 1 and 4 and 1 with the game on the line... Passing plays.

You didn't give your 6'5 250 athletic quarterback who has all of the rushing yards in the game a chance for a oh lets say a draw? QB sneak, dive, power?

Worst playcalling Shula has ever done in my opinion in those last 3 minutes, hell maybe 4th quarter.

I think you score when you have the opportunity to score and if you leave too much time on the clock and get heat so be it.

But, I have no idea why we were chucking the ball down the field like we were in desperation mode.

Shula’s logic almost all the time is “no way they’re going to think I’m this stupid so they’ll never expect”

We can’t run... “no way they’ll expect me to continue to run the ball in the 2nd half”

Stewart’s hands are terrible “no way they’ll expect me to throw a screen out wide for Stewart”

I could go on all day but you get the point

The guy is literally a f’n idiot

Completely agree. And the fact the Panthers got a 3 and out on the Eagles and still got a second chance cannot be the excuse for what happened on that series. Eagles get one first down and it's game over.

Watching 3 passing plays down the field with all the time in the world to cover 50 yards was painful. That's on Shula, but those throws... ughhh. Cam has to shoulder some of that, too, because he was way off the mark.

Best part of Romo is his external monologue, so you get to think what was a very good qb is thinking in the same situation.

Get to the line, plenty of time, have three plays you want to run, make quick adjustments, can still use the field, internal clock, etc.

Cam/Shula do none of that.

Was as frustrated as ever about that.  How do we not have plays in place for that sort of thing?  At least spike the ball to save some time...I just don't get our offense...and Ron doesn't seem to care.

Absolutely agree... with out turnovers, stupid non fg decision, losing Luke and overall sloppiness we has a great chance to still pull that out...why are we swinging for a grand slam like that. Most frustrating part of the game for me

    • Another layer to that is Ive seen Seattle has been in the market for CB help this off-season.   Michael had a higher PFF grade than Horn who got 15 games this season. He wants to be here too, that's a huge bonus for any 5 win team that had awful pass rush.  The 7th rounder Michael Barrett didn't last long on Seattle, he was cut before the season I think and ended up on browns PS. He's already been on 5.......5 teams within one year.......
    • You have gave the board some recent gold via posting. Heres my poor attempt at the truthful play-by-play of the time during post- I pulled out the old laptop to do my shitposting and check on websites. Open the huddle and see this new thread. Open thread and read CRAs post, {inner thinking, oooOOooo this is my lane and I got this}. Make sure not to scroll even to the 2nd post. 23% of current neurons still firing start up and two names appear- Captain and Josh....... about another 43 seconds past "O GOD" it's July 4th weekend and I got medicine to pick up. (If the laptop didn't give away my aging, the meds should...) I need to split, think long panther careers and the hint-  Ryan Kalil was a late 2nd and Pro bowls(even all-pros too) he's got to be OLman and Mikie Minter is among the all-time Panthers career leaders. Drop my post. Scramble to get keys, wallet, and phone. Check my phone- its 17% battery.....fug I now have to raw dog the pickup line and put the phone on charge.... Flip flops, sweat ringed filled hat, and shades acquired. Get in my pos rav4 and think about not running the A/C. Pull out the drive way and reach the 1st stop light, A/C is wide open. I check my shirt to see if there's any new stains on my house shirt, bush off the Bojangles salt that I see.... Neurons re-fire and focus on the comments CRA made that no one would get this....... Dang IT, that means it isn't Ryan Kalil or Mike Minter! CVS is close, but I know its impossible I get back withing 10 minutes to change my post and my phone is on the charger. {Think you monkey, at one point you were a draft nerd}. Reach the CVS line, by some grace its not 5 cars deep during 5 o'clock traffic hell. Im second in line after the car in front of me both turn in, they have to go back and forth to line up while Im a pro for that geometry. Neurons finally reach peak performance as Ive re-thought draft classes. Think obscure and unknown 7th rounders with long careers. Some Sunday/Monday night member berry fell out of my Melon, Will montgomery during the players intros for washington. I thought he out of the league and was shocked to see him still playing around the 2015 years. I do a goggle background check and that refreshed memory. Pick up the meds and enjoy the sweet smelling cool CVS air. Driving back and check in on one of the local bums at the big stop light, wow he's got a new fancy rug. Think about all the old food I got and need to start giving it away and rethink it. Reach home and post a follow up and I know Minter is wrong too, I check the draft history and see Robert Mcclain. Too late, but that would have been my guess....open CRAs link and get "upset" at the DBs name.
    • THANKS my guy! Keeping up with this threads theme, if I view a thread and there's only 20 posts and some time passes. If I see there's one new post and read the name; @Dave Gettleman's Shortsis among the chosen few that I will reopen that thread just to see what you posted.    Thanks again, plus not just a scout, thats scotty mccloughans son?!?!? If not for the deep claws of booze, scotty is among the best talent finders this league has recently had. Last I heard he ran a consulting business. Caden could be one of those who's on a early path to being a GM in the future. I was a big fan of his dad, dam shame about booze demon ruining his career.
