I don't agree with that. I think the 'stewart-types' are still completely relevant if you have any kind of blocking that could be interpreted as acceptable. Its not like stewart is a one dimensional brandon jacobs type, he's one of the most athletic running backs of the past decade overall for his size.

I know he's not pure power, and he's still relevant. I'm talking down the line in 10 years or so. The strong runners are going to be harder to find than your quicky, fast-twitch types. There will be systems that require the strong runners, but there will be fewer of them.

You must forgot J-Stew had speed with power just got robbed a lot of it due to continuous injury.

The future of the NFL is more Ezikel Elliot type of RBs

Again, I know that Stew is one of those rare cases where he has size, speed, and power. I am aware of his skill set. But when I think of Jonathan Stewart, I think of three things: the stiff arm to Ronde Barber, the multiple times he's lowered his shoulder on a linebacker or safety and drove him 5 yards backwards or put them on their back, and the strength and balance to roll over a defender while being tackled but keep his knees and elbows off the ground and keep running. All of those are strong runs, all of those require higher than average strength for a RB. Not a lot of guys can make those types of plays happen. Stew's speed is what makes him elite and had he stayed healthy his whole career, he'd be higher regarded and likely be a hall of famer (his numbers are very comparable to Marshall Faulk, but his being injured and splitting carries for most of his healthy years sets him back).

And you could be right. There could be a higher spike in the Elliot/Bell/Miller types. We'll see.

Cap is less powerful than Stewart, probably not even as elusive, slower than McCaffrey, and cannot pass protect.

actually Stewart is a lot bigger, a lot faster Cap got knocked on for being slow in 3 cone drills etc, Stewart excelled in everything, and he had turf toe at the combine awaiting surgery.

Many others would not have dared go to combine with a surgery waiting, but he did and killed it.

CAP can't hold his jock strap, and that's why he's never on the field.

the better would be to find a backup lineman out there that's probably better than the scrubs we have on he offensive line and trade him.

oh, and he fumbles, he's a fumbler,..

Explaining Stews skillset is a weird thing to do..Because on paper at 235 or so you would think he would be a power back but he is kind of not. There is a reason in goaline situations he rarely get the call and scores at goaline are among the lowest for a starting runningback. Stew breaks alot of tackles,But running over defenders In just a pure power sense isn't really is game. He has a great stiff arm great feet and speed(i think his 40 was as good or better than CMC) lord knows he won't be going down on first contact,But Powerback isn't a label i would give him. CAP is in a similar vein..he's 210-212 and runs north and south but doesn't have any of the great traits mentioned about stew above. I think I will get stoned for bringing this up but, Madden has it stated best that while Stew can run over people That doesnt make him a true power back with his trucking rating sitting at around 82 out of 100.

Tell us about all his fumble?

There is no reason not to see what he can do. The run game can't get any worse
