Leading rookies (a small subset) in receptions is a function of the offense and hasn't translated into a good offense, the defensive attention is a month old meme that no one believes anymore he is nothing special at PR/KR, and yeah players are expected not to fumble.

what game are you watching

As a RB, he has outplayed (received)  many of his WR counterparts without having plays specifically designed for him.   Hes doing a lot with a little.

He's leading all rookies in receptions, drawing a lot of attention from defenses, returns punts better than anyone we had last year and only has one fumble through 8 games. Yeah, he's a bust.

Really? They just took the PR job away and have it to a player off the street.

Once again, saying he was a bad Value, as many said before the draft, doesn’t make him a bust. He’s just not anything near the hype that that he rode to a top ten pick. It was a mistake to take a player with his skill set top 10. It’s just becoming obvious now.

Fwiw, he is top 5 in the entire NFL in receptions.  Yes, he doesn't have a lot of yac, but then we have been below average in yards after catch for a long while.  The yards after catch problem could be a flaw in our scheme.  Witness the screen play we ran today. I can't remember who the target was, but it was thrown into such a crowd of players that the back couldn't go anywhere.

That being said, I do think he is going to have to work on his strength, at least to the point that he isn't taking down as easily.   While I don't expect him to be great immediately, he does need to break a few tackles.

Rookie WR this year have been trash.

that's a bar to clear so low you could trip on it.

He's having a better season than Dez, Keenan, Garcon, Cooper, etc....  Again, when your RB is in the same sentence as WR's like that you have a good player.  Only a few RB's are in that sort of receiving conversation.

At the expense of your franchise QB?

No. Just no. Not when you're drafting 8th overall.

Do people not understand there is a difference between draft position =/= performance and being a bust?

There is no way to argue around the fact that he is not living up to his number 8 pick as a RB and no one in their right minds drafts a slot receiver top 10. He is being out preformed by 3rd+ rounders.

It's not his fault when he was drafted.

I'm never for drafting a RB top 10.

That being said, no one can deny the positive impact that CMC has on this offense.

If you call keeping a bad offense from being worse, I guess you can call that positive impact
