The Fire Sale Theory

Maybe at the bottom of the roster but for the most part No.

Infact, if it was left to Hurney, Tre Boston would still be our starting safety.

Kurt- safe

Adams- gone

Thompson - I could see this being a suprise Hurney move.

Star - maybe

Norwell- Safe

Williams- Safe

Matt Kalil - Gone after next season

Butler- Traded for 5th

Cb's - Safe

Etc ... maybe a couple moves.

We still have the same scouting department from when Hurney orginally left. The only time I really think he hit the "GM choice" was the '16 draft

Idunno, I'm still shocked we let KB go for basically a 3rd.  Wasn't the 7th, basically the same pick we gave them in the Clay-Seymour trade?

Also, I am still holding out hope that JR isn't dumb enough to let him get the full time gig..  but I wouldn't be suprised in the least.

I think JR has dementia, or CTE or some other brain ailments. That is the only answer I can come up with that justifies letting Hurndawg become GM once again, and letting him do bullshit like yesterday.

I don't really buy the fire sale.  I think it was an opportunity issue.  Trade a guy for some kind of value, or watch him under-perform as his knee acts up, watch his weight rapidly change season to season (which is not healthy).  I can see WHY he did it, but it still feels like I just got gut punched.

Was he setting the world on fire?  No.  No one on the team was.  Was he our best WR?  Without question.  They must really think Devin Funchess is the answer to all of their problems...

Said it elsewhere. I didn't see it starting until the offseason if it happened, and initially it was just something I thought of as a remote possibility.

Benjamin isn't necessarily part of it, but the trade of Benjamin has, in my mind, raised the possibility of it actually happening to a higher level.

Will it happen? Unknown, but it's certainly not unprecedented. This kind of thing happens all the time when a different GM takes over.

But after yesterday, I'm more inclined than I was before to believe that it could happen here as well.

There are a lot of people who would testify that Jerry Richardson is a nice guy.

By all accounts, Ron Rivera is a phenomenal guy.

Unfortunately, there's no correlation between being nice and knowing how to run a football team.

Lord knows I wish there were.

In contradiction, Bellicheat and Kraft are heartless bastards that routinely kick puppies, endanger toddlers, and mock the elderly!  But boy, can they win football games.

Just like being nice and getting pussy,  it doesn't happen much.

AHHh, could have a Pete Carroll type of competition every week to determine actives and inactives,..

im sure someone out there would have given a 4th for Funchess,...

3rd for a 3000 yard 25 touchdown player(by years end) run blocker, that actually loved where he was,.. and blew kisses for us to draft him,.. instead of trading a 3 year bust,... just to have a make or break rest of season,.. just so we can part ways with more of Gettlemen,..

I'm not so sure. Mike and Mike had a guest on this morning who floated the idea that Bellicheck actually wanted to keep the Jimmy and move on from Brady this offseason. Kraft overruled him, and told him to trade the Jimmy because he considers Brady like a son.
