What a crazy game.

Seeing Julio Jones drop a sure TD was jaw dropping, and watching the hapless Falcons blow yet another lead was, of course, hilarious (no Super Bowl hangover here, right?)  The Panthers also scored twice in the final two minutes of a half - a team first - and then there was the moment when Cam Newton protested loudly and passionately against Ron Rivera's decision to opt for a field goal on fourth and inches, to which Rivera responded by throwing a challenge flag before finally giving in.

All in all, a wild day for us, but we weren't the only fans to see some craziness yesterday,  It could be found all around the league.

For one, there were multiple brawls and ejections.  A J Green and Carlos Hyde both managed to get themselves tossed, and Mike Evans probably should have been.  Afterward, Dirk Koetter said of Evans, "that's not who we are".  On the flipside, Kyle Shanahan actually said he was proud of how Hyde handled himself.

Jags RB Leonard Fournette wasn't ejected, but he was suspended for the game by Jags coach Doug Marrone due to "a violation of team rules". I still haven't seen what it was that caused that (apparently it wasn't necktie related) but it must have been pretty big to sit a guy like Fournette.  Still, it didn't seem to hurt. The Jags won the game and got a good enough rushing performance out of Fournette's backup.

Two other teams won their respective games yesterday scoring exactly 51 points.  The Rams won 51-17 over the Giants and the Eagles beat the Broncos 51-23.  Even new Eagles acquisition Jay Ajayi took part in the huge scoring performance on an impressive play. So huge was this day in fact that the Eagles tradition of releasing fireworks after every score had to be stopped mid game.  Per the Eagles team Twitter, they  ran out of fireworks. 

Those watching the Chiefs-Cowboys game got to see some different fireworks.  The phenomenal "sort of" Hail Mary play to Tyreek Hill at the end of the first half was a sight to see.  They'll have to take comfort in being part of highlight reel history, though as they ended up losing the game.  Still, what a play.

The Seahawks also wound up on the wrong end of the highlight reel, but unlike the Cowboys they lost they didn't end up winning.  Russell Wilson is known for having a lucky horseshoe up his...sleeve, and near the end of yesterday's Seahawks-Redskins game it looked like he'd pulled it out again with a 30 yard go-ahead TD to Doug Baldwin (who incidentally beat former Panther Josh Norman on the play).  Unfortunately, Kirk Cousins had a little luck of his own and got the Redskins on a game winning drive that left just under a minute on the board.  Wilson had a chance to try one last drive, but failed. All of that took place in just over ninety seconds of game time.

And finally, going back to Chiefs-Cowboys, Tony Romo made a comment comparing Chiefs DB Marcus Peters to Deion Sanders, stating "He makes Deion Sanders look good at tackling."  Sanders response? (quoted from PFT)

“Tony, I tried my best to take the high road, but I don’t know the address to the high road,” Sanders said. “So I got to come at you, man. Ten years as a starter, you’re 2-4 in the playoffs. You ain’t won nothing. I tried to bury the hatchet. Both of us work for CBS. I went and shook your hand, I said, ‘Tony, you’re doing a great job this year.’ I thought that would be it. But nevertheless you keep on shooting at me. Tony, what’s going on, man? I got a gold jacket that I didn’t buy. Dak says hi. And bye. Tony, leave me alone, man. I’ve got a lot of ammunition, man. How many interceptions, 19 in 2012? Come on, man, you threw to everyone but me. Tony, come on, man. You know you never won the big one. You know you never won the big one. So stop. Leave me alone. I tried to take the high road but I don’t know the address.”

Ouch.

This kind of Sunday is what makes the NFL fun.

Here's hoping future Sundays are just as good.

Wonder if the Concentration Line will be put back up around the practice field.

Yeah you’re right, it was all 3. Forget who tweeted it but someone did. Tried to find it but I couldn’t 

If Blake Bortles can close down the lemon bar and role out of bed hungover to make the team photo, Fournette will have a tough time coming up with an excuse

If I was a coach I wouldn't really be mad at Hyde either.   SF literally went after guys they thought took a cheap shot at their unknown garbage QB.  

Wish our guys had some of that in them.  Cam has taken much more vicious hits and none of this teammates have really reacted.  89 likely didn't even like Cam and would have taken heads.

And a gold standard of "this is not how you do it" when it comes to tackling. 

He absolutely deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. Nobody in there is perfect. 

But again, let's be real. Romo was right about that part of his game.
