Asked why he didn't celebrate more after his 69 yard run:

Quote

"When you ain't got no gas left, your check engine light is on . .. you just got to celebrate when you can celebrate."

Queue a week-long analysis in the Charlotte Observer and on ESPN talk shows about how Cam doesn't realize an empty gas tank  doesn't cause the check-engine light to come on.

Over/under on number of teammates asked about the check-engine light: 3.

I’ll be honest, nothing wrong with what he said. He didn’t say the check engine light is one due to the empty gas tank. He could be out of gas and the engine could be in trouble at the same time.

Thats how i read it, but then why is the check engine light on? Is he saying he is still injured?  This is how the media will react anyway.  Cam says what Cam says

That's exactly how I read it.  Out of gas and a motor that is in trouble... pull over and rest!

So the gas runs out and the check-engine light comes on at the exact same moment, but neither has anything to do with the other?

Bold theory, Cotton.

To be fair I think the check engine light has been on since the Bears game at least.
