You all realize we'll be playing Aaron Rodgers in a few weeks right?

People keep expecting the Packers to shut Rodgers down and I just don't see it unless they lose to the Browns in 2 weeks. They have 6 losses right now, a loss next week would give them 7. I can promise you they won't be eliminated mathematically by the time we play them. Rodgers is supposedly feeling pretty good already with an additional 3 weeks before our game. Everyone that's penciling in an automatic W for that game is crazy.

Who cares

We can still beat them with Rodgers

besides we play the saints this week guy

The tone of this board's playoff prediction threads has everyone penciling in a W for that game, when it's probably going to be the hardest or second hardest game left on the schedule. He was in god mode earlier this season before the injury.

they looked pretty good without Rodgers last night.   I mean it ain't a gimmie no matter who plays QB.  Young kid getting better.

I just think it comes down to how the race looks.  I think they need a decent shot for them to risk Rodgers.   A technically not eliminated scenario alone won't be worth it IMO.

Plus, we went to NE and beat Brady this year.  We can beat Rodgers.  We can beat Brees this week too.

9 wins won't be enough for the NFC wildcard. I think they're shutting it down for the season.

I don't disagree that 9 won't be enough, but what incentive would McCarthy have by giving up when they're still in the hunt? That's just now what NFL coaches do. Look at all the crazy bullshit Ron Rivera has done in past seasons under the pretense of us still being mathematically alive.

If they are out of the playoff picture, then you really think they'd risk it?  Especially with a backup playing better and better?

I don't

If Rodgers is completely healthy like it sounds like he'll be, why in the world would they play Hundley? NFL teams play their starting quarterbacks whenever possible.

He's eligible to return against us but it's yet to be seen whether he'll actually be healthy enough to play then. Seems like he's progressing but no one really has any clue as to whether he'll be ready by our game. That, along with their record AND recent history with Romo against us makes me think they'll lean against playing Rodgers against us.

Either way, we'll handle them whether it's Rodgers, Hundley or Jesus Christ himself at QB. That team is horrible.

I am not overly afraid of Green Bay.  Their defense isn't top tier and ours is.   The question is does Green Bay want to put their franchise QB onto the field against one of the top defenses in the league.  It would suck if we slam him to the deck and reinjure that shoulder.

IF they lose this weekend Atlanta needs to win 3 of their next 5 and Carolina/ New Orleans only need 2 of their next 5 to shut out Green Bay

    • Wanting that type of play and being okay with paying $55 million a season for it are two entirely different things. If Bryce were to become the same player Purdy has been, then he would surpass my expectations of him and I'd be okay with him as our QB of the future (and again, I've long been one of the bigger anti Bryce people here who doesn't think he is capable of being our long term solution). But in no world would I be okay with paying him THAT kind of money, paying an average starter elite money is just a terrible decision.
    • I don't think they can overcome that mistake. Hell Lance was a hiccup compared to this. He isn't going to be able to carry that price tag and now he is going to have to do just that. Lol. The NFL is so dumb sometimes.
    • So, one could say that T-Mac is quicker than someone of his size should be and while he might not be quite as fast as Evans in the 40, he's more athletic than Evans. If only someone, anyone, could have seen that in his tape and mentioned that on here, hmmmmmmm In all seriousness, hearing he tested in the 89th percentile in that drill at his size is crazy impressive.  Just tried to look up the times of the top WRs in the league right now, most don't show at time for that, but I did see Chase ran his in 7 seconds flat. I honestly don't know how true this is, but I do remember seeing one breakdown of his tape and the person said he has quiet and efficient feet.  That he's really good at using the minimal steps possible to make his cuts and because of that, it actually makes him look slower to the human eye because you don't see all the quick chop steps that the guys like Tyreek would use in their running. I'm still in a state of disbelief that he's a Panther and it might not fully hit me until week 1 and I see him out there making plays for us, still feels like Goodell is going to just be like, "YOU GOT PUNKED!!!  hahaha, he's a Cowboy now, suck it"
