Panthers DTs. Step up

we have a lot of draft picks and salary cap (soon to be more) tied up in this position and if the Panthers are to go any further, they need to step up in a big way

too many teams running easily.  Too much offensive traffic at the second level for the linebackers to wade through, no gap control

as always, key to game, make Minnesota one dimensional.

If this is done, Panthers win, if not Vikings passing game opens up with play action and with diggs, Theilen, Rudolph, it will be a very long day

At this point I don't have much faith in our defense after the last 2 weeks and this is an even tougher test for them b/c this is the best WR/TE core they faced all  year long and the secondary is the worst unit on the team. I think our only hope to win is getting fumbles and interceptions to swing the field and some explosive downfield plays on offense, two things we've been sorely lacking all year long.

Waay to much resources and money tied up in that one position for them not to be performing better.

Politely disagree on the $$$ part. $19,627,799 tied up between KK, Star, Love, and Butler. That averages out to $5M/head. That is a bargain for that group imo.

But like i said, its not just about the money, thats 2 first round picks and a second round pick we gave a extension too. They can be better.

Unless everything shakes out our way we are losing because our defense is not that great and there's is.

I like Butler on a personal level, but at this point thinking the first round selection was totally justifiable is sheer homerism. If I'm being honest the same can be said for Shaq to a certain extent.

When you pair all that in with how things played out with another first rounder in KB, and the fact that we recently spent a 2nd rounder on Samuel who looks to have issues staying healthy, it's no wonder the team has been so up and down the last 2 years.

    • fuging Christ dude this isnt hard.  Like at all.  I get you simping for this poo team is your thing but sometimes you have to look at reality.   Even removing his bum knee from the equation, none of this made sense.  He is 31.  He has been paid handsomely for his service here.  He was currently under contract for this season.  Why in the holy fug did anything have to be done 2 weeks before the season started.   The people for this move, in this thread are saying A) He deserved it (this is the nfl it doesnt work like that  B) It frees up cap space (then why in the fug didnt we do this in Feb or C) You logic (We are getting a deal at 53 million guaranteed for the next 3 years.   You realize with this deal we cannot cut or trade his ass for 3 years.  You understand this right?   So in my opinion we should have let this ride into the offseason and go from there, what he is going to threaten to walk, big fuging deal he would be 32 on a chronically bad knee, what other moronic franchise is going to give him 40 million up front?  It wasnt going to happen.   And you are acting like its impossible to replace a 32 year old RT with a bum knee.  Just go and draft someone, move Icky to RT.  There are tons of options instead of extending this dude 2 weeks before the fuging season.  The truth is Morgan and the shitheads in the FO fell for this dudes crying act and got all sentimental and shelled out another ext.  We are a poverty ass franchise that doesnt act professionally
    • Amazing what the prospect of being traded to Carolina will do for contract negotiations.
    • 5 Im glad football is back but after the embarrassment that was the browns pre season game where our starting D made Sanders look like a serviceable NFL QB, I lost hope again for a successful Panthers campaign this year.  I do hope I’m wrong!
