Liiiiiike when?

When has Bersin been asked to do anything for our offense than be an occasional chain mover as a #4-5 WR and he's done a solid job at that.

I'm not trying to sell you on poo. I'm just stating facts.

Do you really want to go over Bersin 5 years here??.. He has been a 1st a 2nd a 3rd and 4th options plenty of times and he has failed.. Are you just getting here or something??

Going out on a limb here, but I don't think the 2000 Ravens won that championship on the backs of guys like Dilfer and a bunch of jags at WR.

They kind of had a good defense.

Same people ok with us standing pat and not making any moves to the receiving group, will be the first ones there to blame the offense. “It’s hard for the defense to be effective when they’re constantly on the field due to 3 and outs!!” It has been like this for years on here.

Nobody is saying these receivers on the market are world beaters, but the organization needs to Atleast attempt to fix a glaring problem instead of doing what we always do, and standing pat. Kerley has made some noise. Bring him in for a tryout, as he’s done more than anyone on the roster no names Funchess. Same could be said when Kenny Britt was available. The overall conservative nature of this football team needs to change

The same Byrd guy who I’ve been banging the table for since day 1.

He’s done everything he’s needed to do since we signed him. Expanded his route tree, gained weight and knows the position now. Byrd actually has the talent and that’s why this is a big blow. Even with missing all the time he has he has out produced all the other bums we’re talking about right now.

And there’s no reason that it can’t change this season. That’s the problem, our WR group can be changed and they ignore the issue. So when the Saints hang 30 on us and we struggle to put up 17 you should feel cheated that this organization chose to sit on their hands instead of at least trying to get better. At least try, that’s all I’m asking.

Kerley can help us, period

I agree completely with Byrd. I think it was the Jets game I said he was running Ginns routes and doing a great job at it. His loss is huge.

But no, the major problems in our WR core cannot be fixed this season. Kerely at this point is no more or less a JAG then the guys we have. Jets ran air raid and he still only had 22 catches. What's gonna change here that he emerges as a game changer for us?

Qadry, Stokley, Taylor were actually drafted.. And they had a superior run game and wait ..... one of the best defenses of all times...

Thats right, he's not and will not be a solution....... for us long term at LT.

I'm you want to be a smart ass maybe you shouldn't try to bringing up conversations that you have to selectively remember to not come across as a dumb ass. you can log off now, thanks #burn

Nah I bumped some good ol’ Matt Kalil threads today... I’d suggest you go take a look but it’s not looking good for you.

And please don’t ever “#burn” again, I’m embarrassed for you

We’re obviously not going to be able “fix” all the problems.

All I’m saying is Kerley can help, that’s it.

No one is saying he is going to be a game changer. I’m saying that instead of seeing Shepard drop a ball, we see Kerley catch it. That’s all, a simple catch instead of a drop here and there

"Plenty of times" What

The worst offensive play that I can recall Bersin fuging up on is when he got smothered in coverage by a DE. In like...2011-2012 I think.

Other than that, more times than not Bersin has stepped up when needed. Or do you close your eyes and cover your ears for every solid play he makes.

    • NEVER FORGET!!!!   Canales was on no one's radar. Tepper couldn't get anyone to come here. He was all in on Ben Johnson. Nobody wants to work with Tepper, however Canales tenure may prove important for the next guy. This guy still has no idea what he's doing.
    • The 4th down play was poor execution by Chuba. He didn't want to get physical like Rico and cut North South to lean on his blocks from Tremble and Ekwonu for half a yard. Also, the 3rd down play before that Bryce audibled out to a QB run and almost got the 1st down was on Chuba for not knowing the play call leading to poor execution. You can see Chuba's confusion when Bryce had to realign him. Then Chuba thought he was getting the handoff and was slow to develop his double team on the DE with Tremble. Then Chuba hesitated on pushing the block and just ran to the sideline making Bryce have to loop around him. This pulled the DE away from Tremble forcing Chuba to chip on the DE late and leaving the safety as a free defender. Chuba was suppose to double down on the DE to let Tremble peel off to the safety. This allows Bryce to set up his run to the inside or outside after the safety commits. You can also see Tremble walk over to talk to Chuba after the play and Chuba shrugs which tells me he didn't know what to do. The audible would have worked on 3rd and the dive would have worked on 4th. The plays were good calls and drawn up well. The question is why was Chuba unprepared for those plays in two critical back to back plays? I like Chuba as a 1st down RB and passing downs, but I have always seen him lacking the power and vision to be a short yardage power back. Chuba didn't come prepared for the Saints game or he was thrown into a position at the 3 spot that he was never prepared for.
    • Yeah man, that was a catch. I like to imagine the game isn’t rigged but it’s well known sports betting is ruining the sport. Unfortunately, most coaches plan for 3 phases of the game. But there is really 4, offense, defense, special teams, and special occasions. on special occasions the refs can influence the game, leaving you in positions your actively planning to stay out of and how you respond in those special occasions make or break the game. Other times it’s other reasons. But I like to hope that the right team, or right player can extend past those types of setbacks and still find a way. anywho, probably a pipe dream. But it’s how I see it.
