The prize everybody wants but nobody can have

Mr. Scot

If there was one thing I could ask of the new ownership when they take over, it would be this.

Whatever you have to do, whatever price you have to pay, whatever promise you have to make, whatever arm you have to twist, whatever butt you have to kiss, whatever skid you have to grease, whomever's soul you have to sell...

Whatever it takes, do everything you can to try and lure Eric DeCosta away from the Ravens.

Every team that's had a GM opening for the last several years has had DeCosta on their list. He's never budged, always preferring to wait and take over the Ravens job when Ozzie Newsome retires.

There are certainly good candidates other than DeCosta, but he's been the prize many teams have sought after but nobody could win.

Maybe we won't either, but I would at least want us to give it a try.

I agree an attempt should be made, but I just don't see the guy leaving.

Although... how many teams didn't bother trying to get Beane because they didn't think he'd leave? Definitely worth a shot.

For some reason,  I still think Bill Cowher would be an excellent GM.

Cowher has stated he has zero motivation to leave his current job.

He pointed to the fact that he's highly paid, loves what he's doing and has minimal stress.

Would you leave that?
