With new ownership will we finally stop this whole only drafting choirboy thing?

As if ownership has any room to pass judgement on a player with a past

We should of drafted Dede Westbrook and Dalvin Cook, but old Jerry had his moral compass out.

If Josh Gordon is available we should move heaven and earth to bring him to Carolina

We've drafted plenty of bad dudes.... Just not the really obvious ones. What do you expect? Hurndog to send scouts into prisons? I would prefer talented guys with minimal criminal concerns.

we could target only weed related offenders...thats not really a crime.

Never had a problem with drafting decent young men with a clean record. At the end of the day we watch the NFL to be entertained but these guys are role models for our children and communities. They get paid significantly more than the average human being for having god given talents that 99% of us don’t possess and the least they can do is not be a fug up.

Plus its good business. You wanna pay a guy to have him sit at home (i.e Greg Hardy 2014) while we have to let someone of value walk with the money you paid the other guy?

I’m hoping so, people make mistakes, no need in condemning a guy if he’s clean his act up since said incident. We have scouts getting paid thousands/millions, shouldn’t be hard to tell if a guy has truly cleaned his act up

that's right , and where better to bring a player like that to... wouldn't this type team be a good example for players like that ...redemption is a wonderful thing

We've drafted plenty of weed offenders. We have some on the team right now. Guys like Frank Alexander wasted cap space and potential because they couldn't trick the test.

We don't need to target weed offenders.... just good football players that won't get suspended or arrested.

When weed is no longer tested by the NFL, I don't mind the potheads.

Exactly, and people act like we can’t just released, trade, etc a player if he can’t get his act together with minimum repercussion

    • Why not? Dude was tough as nails. Came off the field after a vicious hit and showed the coach how his ring finger was knocked out of socket halfway up. You could see the shock on Fox's face. Brad just  pulled  on the finger, grimaced, got it back in alignment and went back in for the next play and blew up an opposing linebacker or two. Dude is legendary.
    • Motown let on like he'd like to play at least another 5 years in his presser. I fell he was truthful and us fans over did his knee. The guy started like 108 starts in a row and only missed like 2 games over each of the past years.  I think as long as the team agrees with his value that Motown has, he will sign another contract extension to push the void years into the 2030s.  OLmen can play at high levels up til 40. Trent williams is doing it, Richie Incognito leftd and came back to play until he hit 38. Lane Johnson is still playing at a top level while 38. You member Greg Van Roten, he's somehow still playing at 36 and he started here after being a substitute teacher years before. If you are able to get over the 32 year bump, its possible to reach 38 with luck. Colleges do a poor job of preparing new OLmen, many times that vet is better.   Rams were begging Andrew Whitworth to come back while he was 39, if you got the genes, luck and still willing to put in the hard work....it is possible to play until 38 as a OLmen*starting level*
    • Shaq was a fantastic LB, he just happened to have been standing in the shadow of a Panthers great and a Hall of Famer. He was team-lead starter quality for all 32 teams of the NFL. Don't throw shade on him, he was never just a guy.
