Just gonna go ahead and say it.  Cam already struggles with throwing off his back foot in the shotgun.  I've said all along Cam's issue has never been accuracy. That has never been THE problem -- the issue is getting that big body of his in a position to make the throw. Norv put Bridgewater in this system and he was expected to be a dual-threat QB a lot like Cam, and Teddy ended up getting pressured more than any QB in the league on said plays. Basically, it took away his greatest strength and forced him to play in a system he had never played at the same time.

I just don't think he's the guy for Cam, maybe in practice, but not schematically.

um....you realize Cam's first OC was Chud right?

I see what you’re saying but I don’t envision Norv coming in and doing exactly what he wants. 

As Rivera has stated over and over “we have a system”. I can’t see him being allowed to totally change what Cam does best. Doesn’t make sense.

I don't know, if Newton has the time to set his feet and there's a organized check down process, he may be able to extend his career and increase his accuracy. He can still run but only when it makes sense.

I would much rather he gets comfortable with whatever offense is inserted and is healthy then to keep carrying a team on his back and retire early. The question is will he want to superman and play hurt or be healthy and be a top 5 QB. The guy has an arm....

Turner left Minnesota because Zimmer wanted to tell him how to run his offense.

I doubt Turner would sign on here if Ron was planning to do the same.

I would reserve judgement until you see the personnel that is put around Cam. If we can pick up the traditional Air Coryell pieces Cam could thrive and extend his career.

"Using Cam's unique abilities" doesn't necessarily mean keeping the read-option though.
