What Do You Think About Getting Isaiah Crowell RB from Browns?

Wouldn't be against it but with a deep draft class this year id like to pick up someone like Royce Freeman or Josh Adams over Crowell.

Yes but that is what OP is saying. Why use a draft pick when this guy is available via free agency. That pick can go towards another position.

Jonathan Stewart Seasonal Yards Per Carry

2014 : 4.6

2015 : 4.1

2016: 3.8

2017 : 3.4

2018 :  ?? ( following the trend it would be 3.0 or 3.1 lol)

Shula's offense has also been figured out. There are many stats that can be utilized to determine how effective a running back is. Find the stat that shows the number of times he is hit behind the line of scrimmage per opportunity. Find the mean number of yards BEFORE the line of scrimmage that he is hit, add that number to his YPC, and you get his true YPC.

in 2016, with a YPC of 3.8, he was in the top 5 in forced missed tackles. That tells me that he was being met within 3.8 yards of the line of scrimmage more than most other running backs.

I've come to grips with him not getting much playing time here. I hope he can go somewhere and really play

I don't think CAP is a bad player but Crowell is definitely better and they are the same age. CAP is overall rather fresh as his time in Auburn was split and here he hasn't had many carriers so he doesn't have much tread on the tires.

You have to consider that Ron might be playing the short game here.  By that I mean he's not thinking of building for the future, past his current contract.  If that's the case he doesn't have time to develop a draft pick.  If the answer is on the roster then that's how he will probably go.

FA and the draft will provide some clues into what he's probably thinking.  Look at where they make additions in the off-season.

The fresher the better. I’m for a mid to late round flier, especially given the recent history of teams finding RBs in almost every round and as UDFAs. I.E—Kareem Hunt, Jamal williams, Chris Carson, Tarik Cohen, heck, Wayne Gallman didn’t even look half that bad.

Would rather draft a rookie a RB, this years class is deep

Which is all the more reason to snatch up the better players at other positions rather than a position where we are pretty strong anyway. People will be getting RBs while we can focus our attention at our other holes while also addressing WR/RB in FA.

Gettlemans use FA to set up the draft idea couldn't work better than this year. We need WRs there are plenty. Could use a younger power back...yup FA has some....TE as well....

This class does have good RBs for sure but also has some LTs...and DL which is what we need.

At our pick we got:

Sam Hubbard DE

Mike McGlinchey LT

Orlando Brown LT

As potential picks will be interesting to see how the OT's go because of the recent flops but those two i'd pick there as quick as we're on the clock if available.
