We can’t go into next year with a Worley/Bradberry CB tandem

Two years and top draft picks wasted on players that should have never been starting in the NFL. That is Gettleman for you. Force a round peg in a square hold and call it a perfect fit.

Panthers should be fielding Xavier Rhodes and Josh Norman as the starting CBs for the past 4 seasons. How did I figure that out and an NFL GM missed on the obvious?

Double up on DTs and triple up on CBs with not a single one capable of being a team leader. smh

Kyle Fuller, Prince Amukamara and Brent Grimes are a few CBs I would be interested in that shouldn’t demand big money. But you never know in the NFL.

Worley at SS is an interesting idea. Does anyone know which FS are free agents this year? How about Eric Reid?

two very good safeties would do wonders for our corners, and our d-line for that matter. I say bring in a vet safety that isn't 36 and spend a high draft pick on a highly touted safety.

If we wanted to fix it immediately, Morgan Burnett and Lamarcus Joyner are both FAs. I'm sure we couldn't actually do something like this because of the cap but that would instantly fix our secondary completely. Based on usage and cost, I'd get rid of Captain and plug in Corn, too.

Either of those guys from Bama or LSU

Remember when people were comparing Bradberry to Jalen Ramsey? Well those days are over.

Same result will happen to us in the playoffs next year if we keep these two guys starting . We can upgrade our safeties all we want, but we need better athleticism and talent on the outside.

you are correct sir...GettleMagic...Bradberry would have been a good Pippen to a Norman...he's not a Jordan to Worley's Pippen

I like Bradberry , but to up his edge as a #1 corner, he needs a dose of crazy.  He's too mild-mannered to get in the head of the other team's #1 WR.  When you look at top CB's around the league, there is a swagger element that Bradberry lacks.  I hope he finds it.  There is a part of being a lock down CB that is the mental game.

Bradberry needs to be more aggressive to the ball. He has the length and enough quickness to do that. Too many times we saw him stay on his man, see them catch it then tackle. That’s fine if it’s before the first down marker.

Its kind of weird wilks went so aggressive when he was the db coach and knew what we had on the back end more than anyone. I guess that maybe why he did that. We just couldn’t get to the qb quick enough as much as we would want.

    • Biiiiiig eyeroll on this.  First, Look at historical stats of the most recent historical great DBs.  I plucked 3, Revis, Sherman, and Norman (cuzz he was our guy).  Combined post age 30, there are TWO pro bowls between those 3 and wanna get this...ZERO seasons with 16 games started.  ALL missed time.  It is RARE that Corners survive that long in the NFL and its about time we started recognizing this fact.  Jaycee is a good bet because it hasnt been anything seriously devastating injury wise, and with his sample size he could and should be an incredible piece for the panthers through age 30. Jaire kinda flops on the other side, hes 28...so hes under 30, but he wants his payday before it comes up, hes also been injury prone lately.  Bulk of the contract will be on opposite side of 30.  Will both of these guys help us be better in 2026?  SURE!  No doubt, but the question is, will these guys help us past 2026...not sure. The investment isnt worth the risk, nor would the ROI be anywhere close to worth it.  Neither guy is moving us from a 6-8 win team to a 8-10 team, period. My point is we're in this state a 6-8 win team IMO and he projects us as  a 4-6 win team.  EVEN if we think Jaire or Ramsey will make us a 6-8 win team, it in NO WAY is worth the money or capital to move that much just to suck kinda less.
    • I assumed he was retiring but apparently he plans on playing multiple more seasons.  Florida is gonna have trouble holding onto everyone.  Happens to all teams that have that much success.
    • I hate Marchand, but if he became a free agent.....
