I wouldn't be surprised if the Saints draft a QB especially if Mayfield falls .  They might even trade up for him or Josh Allen, or get a dude like Mason Rudolph in 2nd round.

Brees will probably retire after next season. He'll easily have these records if he plays for 1 more season

  • #1 in Total Career Passing Yards (Currently #3)
  • #1 in Passes Completed (Currently #2)
  • #2 in Passing TDs (Currently tied with Brady for #3) (Too far away from Manning to get #1 )

part of me thinks he would have retired if the saints won it all. Not going out like that though. He is in fine shape but you never know when the noodle arm will strike. He's lucky he has a running game to fall back on now. If the saints go all in on Defense and hit another home run draft it might be our worst nightmare.

Taysom Hill is loved by Sean Payton, I guarantee you he gets a shot at the starting job.

This loss is eerily reminiscent of Farve losing in the playoffs with the vikings to the saints...end of an era.  I'll be glad when he's hung it up, but credit where it's due, guy is one of the greatest ever, sucks he played in a shithole that couldn't help him get even a second shot at a superbowl.

    • Even if he beats the odds, returns midseason  and plays like he did last year it won’t warrant a big contract extension.
    • It’ll be interesting to see how the board falls I completely agree with you on TE for us The safety from Oregon would be the cherry on top for Evero’s defense/scheme.  If a OL’men is there that you love it would be very hard to pass up. This fan base seems to just see Walker as a stop gap but I wouldn’t be so sure. He’s the same age as Ekwonu. He’s had a much more impressive career arc/progression than Icky has. He’s the better pass protector. As far as I see it if Walker has a good year I’d bring him back over Icky. Ekwonu isn’t some elite franchise LT. Playing next to Lewis is going to be great for Walker much like it has been for Icky. We definitely need to get younger/cheaper on the OL though so for this reason alone it’s still top of my list come round 1 if board falls this way  Could also use another corner with Mike Jackson’s deal up after this season and needing a nickel but Corey Thornton looked really good in that role in the limited time we got to see him. However he’s coming off an achillies injury and you never know with those.  Then as mentioned above we do still have a need at WR. As far as “weapons” go it’s kind of a 2 man show with Tmac and Coker and neither is a burner. If Jordan Tyson is there at 19 and we can have a young WR group locked up for cheap that’s a huge advantage cap wise  And don’t forget linebacker. That clip in Devin’s Lloyd blueprint they used from Evero saying they need more intelligence there could’ve been left out for Wallace’s sake but it’s true. Wallace is lost in coverage. Pair a smart linebacker with Lloyd and that’s a group with Wallace and Cherelus being depth
