Jonathan Stewart critiques last year's offense

wow I had almost forgotten about this. Every fan and even the announcers were blown away by that first drive, then Shula completely abandons what worked.

And I agree that's probably a good example of what kept happening, and what must have frustrated the players to no end.

Where are the Shula lovers?

Good lord. He was awful.

man, even if we didn't upgrade the offensive skill positions one bit, you have to imagine the offense as a whole is going to be on another level with at the very least a competent NFL coach

Good times ahead yall.

The Turner get will be the biggest move  and  make the biggest impact going forward...we can argue about players we want or need but the real star will be our new OC...

This is vindication for what Panthers fans have been saying since the end of Shula's first year. You know it's bad when even the players are coming out and calling out the previous OC. I'm very curious what Cam has to say about it. But this revelation is confirmation that our team has always succeeded in spite of Shula as opposed to succeeding because of Shula. Rest assured that Norv will come into every single game with a concrete game plan, and will also know how to adjust what isn't working. I have faith he will help Cam look more like the quarterback we know him to be. Color me super excited for 2018.

It won't pay off for him unless he stops running into the asses of his linemen.  His vision is absolutely terrible.

You aren't wrong. It's my only criticism of Stew. But he's also a HARD man to take down. If Norv can get our linemen opening up holes for Stew and he can just run downhill with a head of steam? look out. He'll still run people over. Something else Norv will help with: I doubt we see the heavy use of CMC up the middle and Stew bouncing to the outside. Stew is meant to be a one-cut-and-dive RB at his age. He still has the power to do it. Likewise, CMC is an edge back. He's the guy that made everyone miss in space in college. Norv will use both of them accordingly.

Last thought: it wouldn't surprise me at all if Norv drafts a stud young power back to spell JStew. CMC as a scat back can be replaced if he goes down by any WR on the roster save for Funch. And that play against the Saints where CMC scored late to keep us in the game was a thing of beauty but guess what, he was in the slot. CMC is a great scat back, but his greatest value is always going to be making defenses guess how he's going to be used. We are still left needing a power back to take the reigns from Stew when he really is done. And maybe that's CAP. Idk. But Norv will know.

It's hard to not like Stew. The issue is that he has an inflated contract for what he brings and it's fairly obvious that he's begun to slow down, literally. I still believe he can be a reliable power back and get 10 carries a game, but not with his current contact.

Also, I forget how freaking big this man is. I mean good lord, it's no wonder he's had ankle issues.

Thank you michelle beadle for moving the womens' sports movement (in her words) forward by asking about cams fashion.

this show is poo. much like most of espn. Lebetard is the only good thing ESPN has and they are milking him and spreading him across the board on different shows, well either him or Stu Gotts.

I hope he comes back...he's not quite done yet...

Actually I don’t think he’s done by a long shot.

ive heard people say they think he’s slow to the hole, but they don’t know football.

if you get the ball and they are through the line every time and you are always having to look to the opposite side of where the play goes or trying to find some crease it’s going to make it look like you are slow— it’s hesitating and trying to do too much.

every time I though he was done, when there were holes he blew through them, blew people up— hell he blows people up when he’s hit behind the line and he has to power 4 yards to make it plus 2.

i think he restructures, real simple, we need his Cap number down 3 million to make it worth keeping him.

i really believe there’s not a better back out there for us to get. Jeremy Hill is not as good as Stewart is today—
