I mentioned in another thread - no reason for an investigation to take " weeks"

The Richardson story was months ago and that investigation is still just getting started.

The NFL bot blasted in the press and in the public for making quick work of previous investigations. They're not going to want to take anything for granted. They have to be thorough.

Richardson is purported to have verbally " assaulted" multiple people over several years.  Nothing comparable to Hurneys ex es allegations.  A lot of Hurney evidence is already on the record via the court system as well.

All of them are capable of getting hired for executive jobs by somebody other than Jerry Richardson.

That puts them easily a notch above Marty Hurney.

(several notches, actually)

if they are so "qualified" why don't they already have a gm job?

Doesn't matter. They still have to do a thorough investigation to make sure they don't miss anything. And even if it's unrelated, this happening in the shadow of the Richardson investigation certainly doesn't help.

Why?  If they are doing it relying on inputs from the scouting department and coaching staff, then its probably not much different from how the other GM's do it.   Matt Allen probably knows as much about drafting as Hurney does, and perhaps more.

I guess we could also say that historically Hurney's been bad at it so why not just let anyone else do it.

The draft is a several month long project and Hurney's already been out scouting personally and working on it. I just don't think it's a simple plug and play thing. Happy to be wrong here if I am....

What information do you have that points you in the probable direction ?

from my above linked article

re read that last quote

Ex Parte orders are very easy to get, they make them that way to protect victims of Domestic Violence, for the Judge to deny the order they have to believe that she was lying

Nobody else would want the job now, gonna have new ownership soon (er) or later and they might wipe out the whole crew and start over.  Hurney or someone in org will probably have to navigate us through the next couple of months which will unfortunately set out 2018 season

    • I honestly can’t believe this team’s turnaround this season. It’s surreal. Figured healthy we’d be fringe playoffs and with another lottery pick could finally turn the corner, but we don’t even need that. This group is ready. We haven’t played remotely well the last 5 games and yet still blew out 5 bad teams by 16+ each game like it was casual practice. We had a few solid teams with Kemba and Big Al but this is easily our best group since the original Hornets moved to NO. Man, what a shift in culture this new ownership group and front office has brought. So damn happy to see it after years of suffering and consistently meaningless games in this stretch of previous seasons.   Only 2.5 games out of the 6 seed, although Miami, Atlanta and Orlando have been playing well too. Gonna be a fun final stretch, hopefully we can get a top 8 seed at the very least. Celtics tomorrow will be a good test. Would be huge to keep the road winning streak up against a very hot top team on the 2nd half of a back to back. We’ve played Boston pretty well the last few years with much of this same group despite sucking so I do feel pretty good about it. Kon is due for a huge game coming off a few cold shooting games (although despite the poor shooting he’s been contributing well with defense, assists and rebounds).
    • It amazes me how underrated Horn has become after he finally was able to stay on the field. Sure last year wasn’t perfect but he was still a huge reason for our rebound defensively and I’d say he’s easily a top 10 corner. You don’t want to see Mike Jackson as our top corner. Any player is available for the right price but I’d be extremely hesitant to move Horn even for a big haul from LA.
