Maybe, but its true.

Rams are cutting Austin independent of Watkins. They made it pretty clear that Woods and Cupp are the future at WR in LA. The choice is going to be btwn paying Joyner or Watkins.

My guess is they pay Joyner and Watkins walks. 

Watkins is the better play over Landry based on price tag and losing draft picks. I do think MIA would take one of our 3rds and an additional day 3 pick for Landry. That salary is a negative in any trade talks, and they will have to eat it.

I hope we balk on Landry, but if thats our move, then I hope that contract can get reduced. Landry wants to be paid as a top WR....He is not worth that money.....that money is set aside for true WR1s and he hasn't proven to be that yet.

Watkins is just a better WR for the Panthers. He doesn't have to be elite he just has to get down field.

Considering what Rivera and Hurney have been saying publicly about receiver and the fact that we have an extra 3rd rounder, I believe we are making a strong push for him.

Rivera just said that we were looking for a veteran receiver who fit the mold of a guy like Cotchery...  well, Landry is almost exactly what Cotchery was in his prime...  reputation for incredible hands, not the fastest guy, but quick...  although I do think Landry is a better athlete.

Still, I would rather use that 3rd rounder to go after Watkins instead.  Maybe we're scared of his injury history?

Besides that I’d be calling up teams on other wrs just to see if they’re shopping some other guys that may fit a bit better than Landry
