What's Hurney's big move going to be?

After we re-sign Star, Hurney trades Butler to the Giants for Eli Apple and their 4th rounder.  Butler never has fit into this D and Apple is immature.  This gives each a new start at a need position for each team.

I can guarantee you Hurney won’t be making any bone-headed decisions like he did during his first stint here. He knows his buddy JR will be gone so he’s actually going to have to prove he’s a legit GM... if that’s possible

I wish him luck with that.  Guess we will see if he's learned anything from watching Dave as he says.

Which is kind of ironic because so many here think Dave was a terrible GM.

But he is nice though so he has that going for him.

He made a lot of pretty good moves in his first few years last time.  I'm among those who think that JR started getting involved after his heart surgery, which coincides with Hurney turning into the village idiot.  If we get early Hurney now, I'm fine with it.

What happened with those last three draft classes Hurney had?

HURNEY HAS ALWAYS BEEN A TERRIBLE GM. 2002-2008 NEVER HAPPENED .

Maybe its my optimism...

Maybe Hurney learned from his mistakes of the past...(decent so far)

Maybe Turner will have an influential voice in helping choose players that will help the offense

Maybe Rivera has more control, confidence and vision than he ever has...

Maybe Im a homer thats full of it...

Maybe not.

I got good vibes is all Im sayin

    • Yes, it tells me they’ve improved significantly from sitting at what, 30-31st in the league on the PP to 11th now.
    • I wanted someone to hire him so we got the picks, but I'm also not upset that he'll now be back. I genuinely don't understand why so many fans on here dislike him so much.  No, he's not perfect and made some mistakes this year, especially at the end of the playoff game and going so soft in coverage on the final drive. But considering this place torched him all offseason for us having the "worst defense in NFL history" last year.  Said in the whole pre-draft process how we had to go defense in round 1 because of it and then complained the rest of the offseason that we didn't do enough to improve the defensive roster. How do people say all that about the defense and then complain when he turned that same unit into a pretty respectable defense this year.  They were really the only reason we were in a lot of games for most of the season, as the middle part of the season they really stepped up and were playing like one of the better defenses in the league. I don't see any reason we can't improve even more next year if we spend another offseason focusing on adding pieces on that side of the ball, which we should be able to do with our draft picks and cap space.
